War Services of the Lieutenant-Colonels.
Genoese vessel armed with four guns, and moored to the batteries at Geraglio, near Cape Corse;
he was at the attack on Leghorn in 1813, by Sir Josias Rowley, and present at the capture of
Genoa by Lord Wm. Bentinck.
177 Lieut.-Colonel Molesworth served at the siege of Copenhagen in 1807.
178 Lieut.-Colonel Willington served in the East Indies from May 1813 to May 1823, includ¬
ing the campaigns of 1815 and 16 in Kattywar and Kutch; taking of Anjar; Deccan campaigns
| of 1817 and 18; campaign of 1819 in Candeish; and in Kutch in 1820.
' 179 Lieut.-Colonel Westmore served the campaigns of 1813 and 14 in Germany and Holland,
including both attacks on Merxem, and the assault on Bergen-op-Zoom; served at Waterloo on
!the 16th, 17th, and 18th June, and was severely wounded.
180 Lieut.-Colonel Chads served with the expedition to Walcheren in 1809.
181 Lieut.-Colonel Pattisson served with the 13th at the capture of Martiniquein 1809, and of
Guadaloupe in 1810; in Canada during the American war in 1813 and 14; in the Burmese w ar
in 1824, 25, and 26, including the capture of Rangoon, storming the stockades at Kumaroot,
Kokien (severely wounded), Napadee, Melloon, ami Pagahm Mew; and he was also present at
the repulse of the enemy before the Lines of Rangoon on the 1st Dec. 1824. Served also
throughout the operations in Affghanistan and Beloochiitan, and was present at the storm and
capture of Ghuznee, operations in Kuhistan, including the capture of Tootumdurrah and Joolghur;
and he was a'terwards at Jellalahad during its famous defence by Sir Robert Sale. He has
received medals for Ghuznee and J>-llalabad.
182 Lieut.-Col. Simmons served in the Peninsula, as a volunteer with the 34th, and afterwards
as an officer in the 23rd, and in the R ile Brigade, from Sept. 1811 to the end of that war in 1814,
including the storming of the forts at Almaraz, a (fairs of San Munos and San Milan, battle of
"Vittoria, actions at Yanzi Bridge and Echalar, storming Vera Heights, crossing the Bidassoa,
battle of Nivelle, battles of the Nive, on the 10th, 11th, and 12th Dec. 1813. Served with the
41st throughout the Burmese war, and was present at the storming of Rangoon and Syrian
Pagoda, led the head of the left column storming the trenches in front of the Dagon Pagoda,
storming a strong stockade in front of the Dagon Pagoda Commanded the left wing of the
41st regiment in the field against the Kolapore Rajah. Served with the regiment during the
campaign of 1842 in Affghaniotan, and commanded a column of attack in the action of the 28th
April in the Pisbeen Valley; present also in the actions near Candahar, at Goaine, and before
Ghuznee; occupation and destruction of that fortress and of Cabool; expedition into Kohistan;
storm, capture, and destruction of Istaliff, and in the various minor affairs in and between the
Bolan and the Kyber Passes. He has received the War Medal with three Clasps for Vittoria,
Nivelle, and Nive.
183 Lieut.-Colonel Malcolm served on the China expedition (Medal).
184 Lieut.-Colonel Maclean served in the Burmese war and was present at the capture of
Zembyke and Melloon. Campaign against the Rajah of Coorg in 1834. China expedition
(Medal) including the attack and capture of Amoy, second capture of Chusan, attack and capture
of Chinhae, Chapoo, Woosung, Shanghai, and Chin Kiang Foo.
185 Lieut.-Colonel Donald Campbell served at Walcheren, in 1809.
186 Lieut.-Colonel Gordon was at the capture of Martinique in 1809, and of Guadaloupe in
1810, for which he has received the War Medal with two Clasps.
187 Lieut.-Colonel Poole served throughout the operations in Scinde (Medal) under Sir Charles
Napier, and commanded the 22nd at the battle of Meeanee, and a brigade at the battle of Hy der-
abad. He was also previously at the dtstruction of the Foit of Imaumghur in the Desert. He
served the campaign in the Southern Mahratta country in 1844-5, including the investment and
capture of the Forts Panulla and Pownghur.
188 Lieut.-Colonel Clunie served with the Royals in the American war, and was present at
the siege and attack of Fort Erie in 1814. He commanded the Buffs in the battle of Punniar
29 Dec. 1843 (Medal).
189 Lieut.-Colonel Farquharson served at the capture of the Isle of France in 1810. Capture
of the fort of Now Nuggar in Killy war, Feb 1814. On the borders of Scindia’s country in 1814
and 15. Capture of forts of Joorin, August 1815, Anjar and Khuncoote, Feb , Dhingee and
Dwarka, March 1816. Action and capture of Poona, 17th March 1817. At Ashtee, 21st Feb.
1818, the Mahratta General Gokla killed, and Sjitteria Reya captured. Storm of Kutch Booje
Fort, March 1819. Capture of the forts of Rass-el-Kyma and Zama, 8th and 22nd Dec.
1819. Served also in Arabia in 1812, and was present in the action of Beni-Boo-Ali, 2nd
March.
190 Lieut.-Colonel Vigors served throughout the campaigns of 1838 and 39 in Affghanistan.
, Commanded the two flank companies of the 13th Light Infantry, which formed a part of the
force under Sir Robert Sale sent in pursuit of the ruler of Candahar, brother of the King of
Cabool; crossed the rapid Helmond with eighteen men (the advance) on a small raft, landed
close to the Fort of Giriskh, which was found just vacated by the enemy. He commanded
the left flank company of the 13th, with the forlorn hope, under Colonel Dennie, at the storm
and capture of the fort of Ghuznee (medal), and was also present at the capture of Cabool, and
in other minor affairs.
191 Lieut.-Colonel Richardson served in South Africa, in command of an expedition agamst
