123 Lieut.-Colonel Young served with the 89th at the capture of Java in 1811, for which he
has received the War Medal with one Clasp.
124 Lieut.-Colonel Estcourt served in the expedition to the river Euphrates, from Jan. 1835
to June 1837; and as a mark of approbation of his conduct and exertions, he was promoted to
the brevet rank of Lieut.-Colonel.
125 Lieut.-Colonel Tronson served in the West Indies from 1808 to 1812, including the cap¬
ture of Martinique and siege of Fort Bourbon in 1809, and capture of Guadaloupe in 1810. The
campaigns of 1813,14, and 15, in Canada, including the operations against Plattsburg. Through¬
out the Burmese war, and was present at Kokein, 15th Dec. 1826, Pagoda Point, Nap .die,
Mehadie, Melloon, where the command of the 13th devolved upon him, and on the 9th Feb.
1826, at the storming of Pagamue, where he was wounded in the right leg, but continued to lead
the left wing until most severely wounded in the left leg, where the ball still remains. Served
the campaign in Affghanistan under Lord Keane, and commanded the 13th at the assault and
capture of the Fortress and Citadel of Ghuznee, for which he obtained the brevet rank of Lieut.-
Colonel. Commanded the regiment throughout the campaign in Kohistan, and at the sieges of
Tootumdarrah, Jhoolghur (led and commanded the storming party), night attack at Baboo
Koosh Ghur, Kardurrah, and Perwandurrah, when Dost Mahomed surrendered, and the force
returntd to Cabul. He has received the War Medal with two Clasps for Martinique and
Guadaloupe.
126 Lieut.-CoL M'Dowell served at the siege and capture of Bhurtpore, in 1825-6; the cam¬
paign in Affghanistan under Lord Keane, including the siege and capture of Ghuznee; and he
commanded the 16th Lancers in the action of Maharajpore. He served also in the campaign on
the Sutlej in 1846, and commanded the 16th Lancers in the action of Buddiwal, and a Brigade
of Cavalry in the battle of Aliwal.
127 Lieut.-Colonel Faddy, prior to entering the Royal Artillery, was a midshipman on board
the Asia, at the capture of the Dutch Fleet in Saldanha Bay in 1795 : present at the attack on
Fort Jerome, St. Domingo, and at the siege and capture of the city of Santo Domingo in 1809 ;
served in the Peninsula and France from July 1810 to June 1814, including the siege of San
Sebastian, passage of the Adour, investment of Bayonne and repulse of the sortie, besides
various minor affairs.
128 Lieut.-Colonel Macbean’s services :—Siege of Copenhagen in 1807 ; expedition to
Sweden, and subsequently to the Peninsula under Sir John Moore ; expedition to Walcheren,
and siege of Flushing ; campaign of 1815, including the battle of Waterloo. He has received
the War Medal with one Clasp for Corunna.
129 Sir Gaspard Le Marchant served as Adjutant-General to the Anglo-Spanish Legion,
and Brigadier-General in the Spanish service during the jears 1835, 6, and 7. Was present at
the relief of Bilboa and affair before that town in Sept. 1835. Engaged on the heights of Aria-
ban, in Alava, on the 16th, 17th, and 18th Jan.; in raising the siege of San Sebastian, and
storming the Lines 5th May; passage of the Urmea, and taking of Passages 28th May; in the
general action before Alza Oct. 1836, besides several affairs in Guipuzcoa, as also in the gene¬
ral actions of the 10th, 13th, 15th, and 16th March before Hernani. For these services he re¬
ceived a medal.
130 Lieut.-Colonel MacKinnon served as Assistant Quarter-Master-General at the Cape of
Good Hope during the Kaffir war of 1846-7.
131 Lieut.-Colonel Walpole served the campaign against the Rajah of Coorg, in 1834, with
the 39 th regiment.
132 Lieut.-Colonel Singleton served in the Peninsula from 1811 to 1813, and was slightly
wounded at the siege of the forts at Salamanca, and twice severely W'ounded at the battle of
Salamanca, for which he has received the War Medal with one Clasp.
133 Lleut-Colonel Charles Blachley served in the Peninsula from July 1809 to December
1812, including the battles of Busaco, Fuentes d'Onor, and Salamanca, and siege of Burgos.
134 Lieut.-Colonel Moor served in the Peninsula from June 1809 to June 1813, including the
battles of Busaco, Fuentes d'Onor, and Salamanca ; sieges of Ciudad Rodrigo and Badajoz,
action at Cnstrojon, and twelve other affairs with the enemy. He has received the War Medal
with five Clasps.
135 Lieut.-Colonel Marlay served at the battle of Trafalgar.
136 Lieut.-Colonel Marshall served in the Peninsula from Jan. 1811 to Oct. 1813, including
the first siege of Badajoz, siege and storm of Ciudad Rodrigo, siege and storm of San Sebastian.
Slightly wounded at Ciudad Rodrigo 16th Jan. 1812 ; severely wounded twice by musket-shots
at San Sebastian 31st August 1813, when leading the advance of the column of attack up the
great breach. He has received the War Medal with three Clasps.
137 Lieut.-Colonel Anderson’s services:—Expedition to Calabria, including the battle of
Maida and subsequent operations, and capture of the fortress of Catrone; expedition to Egypt
in 1807; Peninsula from April 1809 to Jan. 1812, including the battles of Talavera (wounded)
and Busaco, retreat to the lines of Torres Yedras, and various affairs there; with the advance
at Espinhal, battle of Fuentes d’Onor, and many other affairs and skirmishes. Served at
the capture of Guadaloupe in 1815. Commanded a brigade at the battle of Punniar (Medal),
and was severely wounded at its head when in the act of charging the enemy’s guns. He has
received the War Medal with four Clasps for Maida, Talavera, Bueaco, and Fuentes d'Oner,
