1 Sir Henry Pigot accompanied the brigade of Guards to Holland in 1793, and was present at the siege of
Valenciennes, the action of Lincelles, and all the other engagements in which the brigade was engaged in
the campaigns of 1798 and 94.
2 Colonel Piper served in the American war, including the capture of Moore island; also throughout the
Burmese war.
3 Major Young served at the battle of Fuentes d’Onor; siege of Badajoz ; attack of the Forts at, and
battle of, Salamanca; capture of Madrid; siege of Burgos; twice engaged, and once wounded, on the retreat
from Burgos; operations in front, investment of, and sortie from Bayonne. Served in the Burmese war.
4 Major Campbell served throughout the Burmese war.
5 Captain Matthew served at Badujoz, Salamanca, and Bayonne; at Graham’s Town, when attacked by
CaiFres, in 1819; and throughout the Burmese war.
