1 Sir Charles Colville served as Captain of the 13th rept. in St. Domingo in 1793, 4, and 5, and was
wounded at the landing at Cape Tiberon; as Lieut.-Col. of the 13th regt. served the campaign of 1801 in
Egypt. Sir Charles has received a cross and one clasp for Martinique, Fuentes d’Onor, Badajos,
(severely wounded by a musquet-ball through the left thigh, and lost a finger off the right hand,) Vittoria
(wounded) and Nivelle.
2 Colonel Sutherland served in the Ashantee War. on the Gold Coast, in 1824.
3 Major Johnson embarked with his regiment in 1806 for South America, and was present at the storming
of Buenos Ayres. Present at Roleia, Vimiera, Corunna, Busaco, Sabugal (wounded), Fuentes d’Onor,
Elbodon, Ciudad Rodrigo (severely wounded at the assault), and Salamanca.
4 Captain Spence served against the Ashantees from November 1822 to 1824.
5 Capt. Canch served in the Peninsula from Sept. 1809 to Dec. 1812, and from October 1813 to May
1814, including Busaco, Redinha, Sabugal (wounded), Siege of Badajoz, May 1811 (severely contused),
Fuentes d’Onor, El Bodon, Ciudad Rodrigo (wounded at the assault). Siege and Capture of Badajoz
(wounded), Salamanca, Nivelle, Orthes and Toulouse. Served in the American War, and was present at.
Plattsburgh.
