The Prince Regent, as a mark of His Royal Approbation of the distinguished gallantry of the Brigade
of Foot Guards in the Victory of Waterloo, has been pleased, in the name and on the behalf of His Majesty,
to approve of all the Ensigns of the Three Regiments of Foot Guards having the Rank of Lieutenants, and
that such Rank shall be attached to all the future Appointments to Ensigncies in the Foot Guards, in the
same manner as the Lieutenants in those Regiments obtain the Rank of Captain.
His Royal Highness has also been pleased to approve of the First Regiment of Foot Guards being made a
Regiment of Grenadiers, and styled “ The First, or Grenadier Regiment of Foot Guards," in commemo¬
ration of their having defeated the Grenadiers of the French Imperial Guards upon this memorable occasion.

2 Col. Lambert served the campaign under Sir John Moore in 180D; expedition to Walcheren; Cadiz,
1810 and 11; Peninsula, 1812, 13, and 14; was Adjutant at Corunna and Barrosa.
8 Col. Grant served Sir John Moore’s campaign in 1809, including battle of Corunna; expedition to Wal¬
cheren ; Peninsula, 1812, 13, and 14.
4 Col. Ellison served at Cadiz in 1811 ; the Peninsula in 1812, 13, and 14; battles of Quatre Bras and
Waterloo, and taking of Peronne, 2bth June, 1815. Received the Brevet rank of Major for his conduct at
Waterloo.
5 Col. Higginson served the campaign of 1809, including the battle of Corunna. Served in the Walcheren
expedition, and in the Peninsula, in 1812, 13, and 14.
6 Col. Clive served in the Peninsula in 1814. Present at the battles of Quatre Bras, and Waterloo, and
taking of Peronne.
7 Col. Davies was wounded at Badajoz.
8 Col. Lascelles served in the Peninsula in 1814. Present at the battles of Quatre Bras and Waterloo,
and taking of Peronne.
9 Col. Boldero served at Cadiz in 1810 and 11; in the Peninsula in 1812 and 13 ; and in Holland in 1814.
Was Adjutant at the battles of Quatre Bras, Waterloo, and taking of Peronne.
10 Coi. Perceval served in the Peninsula in 1813 and 14, and was severely wounded at Bayonne, 14th April,
1814.
11 Col. Johnston served in the Peninsula in 1814. Was present at the battles of Quatre Bras and Wa¬
terloo, and taking of Peronne.
12 Doctor Harrison served in the Walcheren Expedition, 1809; at Cadiz and in the Peninsula in 1811, 12,
and 13; expedition to Holland, 1814; Netherlands and France from 1814 till 1818. Present at the assault of
Seville, bombardment of Antwerp, storming of Bergen-op-Zoom, battles of Quatre Bras and Waterloo, and
taking of Peronne.
