1 Sir Edward Kerrison served at the Helder in 1799 ; with Sir John Moore’s army in Spain in 1808, and
at Corunna. Served subsequently in the Peninsula, and commanded the 7th Hussars at Orthes, and at Wa¬
terloo, for which he has received medals. Sir Edward was severely wounded (his arm having been broken
in two places) in Spain, 25 Dec. 1803, and slightly wounded at Waterloo.
2 Col. Townsend served in the Peninsula from Dec. 1808, until taken prisoner near the city of Pan in
France, 8th March 1814, including the different affairs of the 10th and 11th, in crossing the Douro on the
12th May 1809; battle of Talavera; affair with the enemy’s advanced posts 11th July 1810 in front of
Ciudad Rodrigo under the command of Col. Talbot who was killed; passage of the Coa; skirmishe's of the
rear guard from Almeida to the lines of Torres Vedras in 1810 ; affairs in the enemy’s retreat from Santarem
to the frontiers of Spain from 6th March to 4th April 1811; battle of Fuentes d’Onor (wounded); affair
with the enemy’s lancers 25th Sept. 1811; siege of Badajoz ; affairs with the enemy’s cavalry at Usagre,
Llerena, in front of Salamanca, and near Castrillos; battle of Salamanca; affair with the enemy’s rear
guard near Panerandos; several skirmishes from Madrid to near Ciudad Rodrigo, and from the 26th May
near Salamanca to the battle of Vittoria; taking of a gun from the enemy near Pampeluna; and several
engagements and skirmishes from the entrance of the British army into France, until the battle of Orthes.
Embarked for America in Oct. 1814, and was present at the attack on New Orleans 8th Jan. 1815.
■I Capt. Harvey served at the investment of Kolapore in the East Indies in Sept. 1827.
4 Quarter-Master, 15 Sept. 1837, from which date the period of service has been computed.
5 Paymaster Rofe served in the Peninsula from October 1812 to the end of the war.
6 Quart.-MasterBrodripp served in the Peninsula from Sept. 1813 to the end of the war; present at Waterloo.
7 Dr. Lavens served the campaigns of 1812, 13, and 14, in the Peninsula, and was attached to the light
troops which attacked the castle of Mirabete near Almarer, on the night of the 19th May, 1812. Present at
the battles of Vittoria, the Pyrenees, Nivelle; storming the Heights of Garris; and battle of Orthes.
Present at Waterloo on the 16th and 18th June.
