96 Capt. F. Y. Gilbert served in the Peninsula from Dec. 1812 to the end of that war in
1814.
97 Capt. Gillespie served in the American war, and waspresent at thebattle of Plattsburg.
98 Capt. Goode served in the American war, including the operations in the Chesapeake,
battle of Bladensburg and capture of Washington ; and destruction of the American flotilla.
Served also at the attack and capture of Guadaloupe, in 1815.
99 Capt. C. Gordon served in the American war in 1814 and 15, and was severely
wounded in the left cheek at New Orleans, 8th Jan. 1815.
100 Capt. Thomas Gordon served the campaigns of 1814 and 15, and was present at the
repulse of the sortie from Bayonne, and battle of Waterloo. Served afterwards in the East
Indies, and was engaged at the battle of INIaheidpore.
101 Capt. Gorse served at the capture of Guadaloupe, inl815.
102 Capt. John Gould served with the Expedition to Walcheren, and at the siege of
Flushing, in 1809. Peninsular campaigns from June 18)3 to the end of that war in 1814,
including the siege of San Sebastian, passage of the Bidassoa, battles of Nivelle and Nive,
and all the operations round Bayonne. Served afterwards in the American war, including
the action at Plattsburg.
103 Capt. Grubbe served in the Peninsula the latter part of 1812, and was present in
action with the enemy, 16th Nov., on the retreat from Burgos. Served also at New Orleans.
104 Capt. Gunning served with the 79th at Ferrol and in Egvpt in 1801, under Sir
Ralph Abercromb}'; was present in the actions of the 13th and 21st Marcli, and with the
Division !hat took Grand Cairo. Proceeded to India in 1805, and was at Vellore during the
mutiny in the following year. Served with the 69th at the capture of the Lines and Country
of Travancore, in 1809. Also at the captures of the Islands of Bourbon, Mauritius, and
Java ; at the storming of one of the Forts of the latter island with six companies of the
69th under Lieut.-Col. Macleod (who was killed), he was the first man that entered the Fort.
105 Capt. T. C. Hammill served the campaign of 1814 in Upper Canada.
106 Capt. Harding served in the Peninsula from Aug. 1811 to the end of that war in
1814, including the battles of Salamanca and Vittoria, siege of San Sebastian, and battles of
Orthes and Toulouse. Served also the campaign of 1815, and was present at the battle of
Waterloo.
107 Capt. \V. Henry Hare accompanied the expedition under Sir David Baird to Corunna,
and was present through the retreat, and at the battle of Corunna. In August 1809 em¬
barked with tlie expedition to Walcheren, and was at the siege and cajjture of Flurliing.
Served in the Peninsular campaigns of 1811, 12, 13, and 14; and finally at the battle of
Waterloo and capture of Cambray.
108 Captain Hugh Harrison served the campaign of 1815, and was severely wounded at
Waterloo.
109 Capt. Septimus Harrison served the campaigns of 1814 and 15 in Nepaul, and com¬
manded a company on the advanced guard in the action at Jeetghur, where he was wounded.
Served also against the iVIahrattas in 1816 and 17.
110 Capt. Haslewood served at the siege and capture of Flushing, in 1809. Also at the
siege and capture of Bhurtjiore, under Lord Combermere.
111 Capt. Henry joined the Peninsular army in 1810, and was present at the sieges of
Ciudad Rodrigo and Badajoz, defence of Alba de Tormes, attack on the Pass of Maya, bat¬
tles of Vittoria, Nivelle, Nive, Orthes, and Toulouse, besides various minor affairs.
112 Capt. Henry Hill served in the Penins.ila from May 1811 to June 1813, and was
present at the action near El Bodon, battle of Salamanca, with the advance and rear-guard to
and on the retreat from Burgos. Served also the campaign of 1815, and was present at the
battle of Waterloo.
113 Capt. Hinks served at the siege of Copenhagen, in 1807. Also the campaign of 1815,
including the battle of Waterloo.
114 Capt. Hobbs was severely wounded at Quatre Bras.
115 Capt. Hodges served in tl)e Peninsula, from 1810 to 1814, including the battles of
Vittoria and tiie Pyrenees, besides various minor actions and skirmishes. Served also the
campaign of 1815, and was present at the battles of Quatre Bras and Waterloo. Com¬
manded the Auxiliary land forces under the orders of his Im))erial Majesty the Duke of
Braganza, in Portugal, in 1832 and 1833. Was also present at the attack on the Egyptian
Forces under Ibrahim Pasha, by the Turkish Army commanded by Commodore Sir Charles
Na])ier, on the heights above Boyrout in Syria, lOth Oct. 1840. He has been three times
wounded in the course of his services.
116 Capt. J. M. Home served the campaign of 1814 in Upper Canada.
117 Capt. Hort served in Lower Calabria and Sicily, and accompanied the expedition
under Major-General Ackland to the Bay of Naples, in 1806. Served the campaign under
Sir John Rloore, and lost his right leg at the battle of Corunna.
118 Capt. George Hoihara served at the bombardment of Algiers, under Lord Exmouth.
118* Capt. Hutton served at the capture of Guadaloupe, in 1815.
119 Capt. J. L.Hulme served in the Peninsula from March 1810 to the end of that war
in 1314, including the 2d siege of Badajoz, battles of Nivelle and Nive (10th to 13th Dec),
passage of the Adour, investment of Bayonne and repulse of the sortie.
