1 Sir Hudson Lowe was present at the attack of the Martello Tower, stormnig of Convention Redoubt, and
the sieges of Bastia and Calvi; served in the expedition to Egypt, and was present in the principal
occurrences of that campaign ; accompanied the expedition to the Bay of Naples, and commanded the first
line of the advance. He was present at the attack and capitulation of Ischia; and subsequently at the
attack and capitulation of Zante and Cephalonia.
2 Major Palmer served the campaign of 1814 in Holland, including the attack upon the village of
Merxem, 13th Jan., also second attack and capture 2d Feb., when his regt. captured two guns; bombard¬
ment of the French fleet in the Scheldt, from 3d to 0th Feb. Actively engaged at Fort Frederick on the
Scheldt, 22U March, in impeding the passage ot French line of battle ships to Fort Lillo, for the purpose of
throwing provisions and assistance into the garrison. Again employed on the same duty 25th March fol¬
lowing.
4 Captain Telford served in the Peninsula from March 1812 to the end of the war, including the battle of
Salamanca, retreat from Burgos, and action of Villa Murilla; affair atOsma, battle of Vittoria,carrying of the
outworks of San Sebastian 17th July, and first assault on the body of the Fortress 25th July; also second assanlt
andcapture31st Aug. 1813; battles of the Nivelle, 10th Nov., and Nive, 9th, 10th, andUtli Dec. 1813. Served
subsequently in the American war.
