24 War Services of the General Officers.
14 General John Mifhel served at the siege of Fort St. Philip, in Minorca, and was taken
prisoner on its surrender.
15 General Robertson served at the taking of Goree ; present in every action in India
under Sir Eyre Coole and Lord Cornwallis; with the storming parties at Nundy Droog,
Bangalore, and Savandroog ; at the siege and capture of Pondicherry, in 1793 ; the storm¬
ing of the French lines before Cuddalore.
16 General Wood served as a Major-General on the staff in the East Indies, and was
actively employed in the Nepaul war.
17 General White served the campaigns in Flanders, including the sieges of Valencien¬
nes and Dunkirk, and the action and storming of Lincelles.
18 General Dilkes served the campaigns of 1793, 94, and 95, on the Continent, in¬
cluding the different actions. Rebellion in'Ireland, in 1798. Expedition to the Helder in
1799, including the different actions. Campaigns in the Peninsula during 1810 and part of
1811 ; be was second in command at the battle of Barrosa, for which he has received a
modal.
19 General Bonham served upwards of 22 years in the West Indies, and acted as chief of
the Quarter-Master-General's department on the two expeditions against St. Lucia and
Tobago, and Demerara and Berbice; on the latter he was second in command. He was
also present at the storming of Morne-Fortunee, St. Lucia, on the night of the 2nd of June,
1803.
20 Sir Thomas Sumarez served in the first American war from 1775 to its termination,
and was present in several of the principal actions, and at the sieges of Charlestown and
Yorktown, at wliich last he was made prisoner.
21 General Saunders has seen a great deal of service in the West Indies, and was actively
employed against Demerara, St. Eustatia, and St. Vincent. During two years' service in
Martinique and St. Lucie he was present in the engagements of the Vigie, Gros Islet, Cul
de Sac, and Carnagie. Accompanied General Baird's army to Egypt, in 1801. Proceeded
to the Peninsula in June, 1809, and commanded the 61st regiment at the battle of Talavera,
for which he has received a medal.
22 Sir Warren M. Peacocke served in Ireland during the rebellion in 1798, and was pre¬
sent at the affair at Antrim, and at the battle of Ballynahinch. Served also in Egypt, in
1801 ; accompanied the expedition to Hanover, in 1805; and that to Copenhagen, in 1807.
Embarked for the Peninsula, Dec. 1808, and in June 1809, he was appointed by Lord Wel¬
lington to command a brigade, and subsequently to the command of Lisbon.
23 General Goldie served in Ireland during the rebellion, in 1798 ; also in the Peninsula
for a few months, in 1812.
24 General Eden served in Flanders, in 179-i, and in Holland in 1795 ; also at the cap¬
ture of Java in 1811, for which he has received a medal.
25 Lieut.-General Rebow was at the taking of Martinique, St. Lucia, and Guadaloupe,
in 1794, at which last he was severely wounded through both thighs. Served also in the
Peninsula in 1812.
26 General Gosselin served in the expedition against Genoa, under Lord Wm. Bentinck;
and subsequently in the American war.
27 Sir Arthur Richard Dillon served in Ireland during the rebellion, in 1798.
28 General Darroch served in the rebellion in Ireland, in 1798 ; expedition to Hanover,
in 1805; expedition to South America, in 1807 ; Peninsular campaigns of 1808, 9, 10 and
11, including the affair near Carvalhos, passage of the Douro, aud attack of Soult's rear¬
guard at Salamonde.
29 Sir Thomas Molyneux served at the taking of Martinique, St. Lucia, and Guadaloupe
in 1794.
30 Sir Alexander Halkett served at the capture of Martinique, St. Lucia, and Guadaloupe,
in 1794 ; at Ostend, under Sir Eyre Coote, where he was taken prisoner; with t!ie expedi¬
tion to the Helder, in 1799, where he was twice wounded ; and at the capture of the Cape
cf Good Hope, in 1806.
31 General Clay was at the taking of Martinique and St. Lucia in 1794, including the
storming of Morne de Pierre (led the forlorn hope), siege and reduction of Forts Louis and
Bourbon. Accompanied the expedition under Sir James Pulteney to Belleisle, Ferrol, and
Vigo Bay. Served also in Egypt in 1801, and was present in the actions of the 13th and
21st March, the siege of Alexandria, and other affairs of less importance. Medal for ser¬
vices in Egypt.
33 Lieut.-General Thomas served in the first American war, and was present at the
several landings on Staten, Long, and York Islands ; the battle of the 27th Aug. 1776 on
Long Island, capture of Forts Lee and Washington, battles of Brandywine and German-
town, at which last he received two balls in his head. Proceeded to the West Indies in
1778, and was present at the capture of St. Lucia, and in the battle of the Vigie. Served
on board the Cornwall in the action off Grenada, between Admiral Byron and the Comte
d'Estaignes, 6th July, 1779; also on board the Conqueror in the action between Admiral
Parker and La Motte Picquet, in Fort Royal Bay, Martinique, 19th Dec. 1779 ; and in the
