3 Major Tisdall was sent in command of 100 men
in carriajfes in June 18.'>7, from Barnickporc lo pro¬
tect the station of Uerhampore threatened wittl
mutiny,—reestahlished cdnlidence, and was thanked
hy the Commander-in-Chief. Was engaged in fre¬
quent afTairs uith the mutineers in the Sliahabad
district, their dispersion from Jugdcspore, and pur.
suit into the Rotas Hills wliere he commaiided the
35th Regt. in a successful night surprise of the enemy
on the 24th Nov. 1868 (Brevet of Major, and Medal).
(i .Major Stewart served as D.A.A.Gen. lo
the 2iid Division at the capttire of Lucknow
in March 18.58 and was seveielj' wounded
(Brevet Major).
8 Captain Barnes volunteered on the outbrealc
of the Katlir war in 1850, and was appointed a
Lieut, in a native corps, and served under Sir
H.trry Smith and Sir George Cathcart from January
1851 until March 1863. He accompanied the first
patrol that left King William's Town on the 30tli
Jan. 1861,and was presentat the engagements of the
17th February, 6th March, ir,th April, ori861,andat
the passage of the Kei on the 4th December of the same year; besides
many other minor encounters with the enemy during the war (Medal).
10 Lieut. Pohle served with the Field Force against the rebel
Karens in Burmah in Jan. 18o7, and was severely wounded.
Served in the Indian campaign of ]858-5t) with the Arrah
field force under Lt. Col. Walter, and was present in the
actions of Sirthoor, Bramineegunge, Rampoorperoria, Irraaon,
and Kareesett fMedal).
14 Lieut. Parsons was present at the attack on Jugdespore and retreat
into Arrah on ii3rd Apiii, 1858, also at various affairs in the Shahabad
district including the dispersion of the rebels from Jugdespore ou 18th
Oct., their pursuit into the Kyraoor Hills and night attack at Sulya
Debar (Medal).

1 Sir George GolJie served In the Peninsula from Marcli 1809 to \ov. 1813, including the passnge of the Douro, battles of
Talavera and Bu^aco, lines of Torres Vedi-as, battle of Albuhera (Brevet of Major), covering the tliree sieges of Badajoz, affairs
of Arroyo, de .Molino, and Campo Mayor, battles of Vittoria and the Pyrenees, besides many minor actions and skirmishes.
Severely wounded in tlie Pyrenees on the 30th July 181.1 by a musket-ball, which is still lodged in thelungs—this wound was
long considered mortal. He lias the Gold Medal for Albuhera, and the Silver War Medal with four Clasps for Talavera,
liusaco, Vittoria, and Pyrenees. He held an important command in Ihe disputed territory in Canada in 1838-39.
2 Colonel Walter served throughout the Kaffir campaign of I84fl-7 as Adjutant of the 90th Lisht Infantry, nnd Field
Adjutant of the 1st Division (Medal). Served with the .53rd Regt. in tjie Punjaub campaign in 1849,'and was present at the
battle of Goojerat (Medal and Clasp). Also with a Brigade on the Peshawur frontier in 18.!il-52. Served witli the S.'Jth Hegt.
in the Indian campaign of 1858-59; commanded the Arrah flild force in the actions of Sirthooa, Bramineegunge, Rampoor-
peroiora Jemaon, and Kareesath; subsequently alight column in the operations in Shahabad, including the action before
Xonoodhee (CI). and Medal).
5 Captain BIyth served against the Indian Mutineers with Colonel Walter's force in the Shahabad district j also with
Sir John Douglas'Column in Shahabad, including the dispersion of the rebels from Jugdespore,night attack at Sulliadohar,
