1 Lt.Col, Hadcliffe served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55 with the 20th Regt., including the battles of
Altna (as Aide de Camp to acting Urigadier General Horn), Balaklava. and Inkerman, siege of Sebas-
topol, and aH'airof the IStli Juno (.Medal and Clasps, Brevet Major, Sardinian and Turkish Medals, and
Sill Class of tlie Modjidie). Served in the Indian c.ainimign of 1857-58 and was present at the actions of
Chanda, Ameerapore, and Sultanpore, and at the siege and capture of Lucknow—wounded, and twice
mentioned in desputclies (.Medal and C!a>p).

3 Lt.Col. Bennett served the Eastern campaign of 1854 witli the 20th Eegt., including the battles of
Alma, lialaklava, and Inkerman (severely wounded), and siege of Sebastopol (Medal and Clasps, 6th
Class of the Me ijidie, and Turkisli Medal). Served in the Indian campaign of 1857-58 and was present at
the actions of Chanda, Umeerpore, and Sultanpore (as Orderly Officer to Brigadier Evelegh), siege and cap ■
ture of Lucknow, subsequent operations in Oude and affairs of Cliurda and fort of Musjeedla (mentioned
in despatches. Brevet of Major, Medal and Clasp).
4 Colonel Holdich served as Aide du Camp to Sir Harry Smith throughout the campaign on the
Sutlej (Medal and Clasps), and was present in the battles of Moodkee, yerozeshah (wounded), Buddiwal,
Aliwal.and Sobraon (severely wounded). He served also as .4ide de Camp to Sir Harr.v in the action with
and defeat of the Rebel Boers at Boem Plaats (South Africa) 2!) Aug. 1848; and in the Kaffir cam¬
paigns from 1850 to 1852 (Medal). He served with the 80tli Regiment in the Burmese war of 1853
(Medal), and was with the espedition under Sir John Cheapo against the robber chief Myattoon, and suc¬
ceeded to the command of the right wing at the assault and capture of his stronghold on the 19th March
(appointed a CB.).
5 Major Dickiiis served at the siege and fall of Sehastopol from 26th Jan. 1855; also present at the capture
of Kinhourn (Medal and Clasp, 5th Class of the Mertjidic, and Turkish Medal). Served in the Indian campaign
of J8;7-58 and was present iit the actions of Cliauda, Unicerpore, and Sultanpore, siege and capture of Luck¬
now, subsequent Oi'ierations in Oiide, and affair of Meangiinge (Brevet of Major, Medal and Clasp).
6 Major Warren served at the siege and fall of Sebastopol from 2Cth Jan. 1855; also present at the capture of
Kiubourn (Medal and Clasp. 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Tiukisli Medal). Served in the Indian campaign of
1857-5S, including the actions of-Chanda, Umeerpore, and Sultan|iore, siege and capture of Lucknow (wounded),
subsequent operations in Oude and affairs of Mohan and Mcangunge, also at Cliurda, and fort of Musjecdia
(Medal and Clasp).
7 Major Lyons served in the 20th Regt. iu the Indian campaign of 1857-58, and commanded the se-
lected marksmen of tile Hegt. iu the actions of Chanda, Umeerpore, Sultcnpoie, and fort of Dhovvraha
whence he assisted in bringing away two gnus under a heavy lire ; was [ireseut at the siege and capture of
Lucknovv, the subsequent operations in Oude and affair of Mohan, and commanded four Companies at
Morar Mow and Beerah, fort of Simree and action of Buxar Ghat; served as Biigade Major to the 2niX
Brigade Oude force, and was present at the capture of fort Oomreah (three times mentioned in despatches,
(Medal and Clasp, and Brevet Major).
