1 Sir Edward Oust joined the Duke of Wellington's Army prior to the advance from Portugalin iSii, and con¬
tinued with it up to the cantonments on the Adour in 1813, having been present with the i6th Light Dragoons at the
battle of Fuentes d'Onor, and with the 14th Dragoons at the battles of Salamanca, Vittoria, the PjTenees, Nivelle,
and Nive, investment of Ciudad Rodrigo, siege of Badajoz, and generally in all the affairs of that period, until he
quitted the Duke's Army on promotion. He has received the War Medal with seven Clasps. Sir Edward is the
author of the " Annals of the Wars of the i8th and 19th centuries," an invaluable standard work to the student of
Military History.
2 Major Wilkinson served with the 95th Regiment in the Indian campaign of 1858, and was present at the siege
and capture of Awah, siege assault and capture of Kotah, battle of Kotakeserai, general action resulting in the
capture of Gwalior, assault and capture of Rowa, siege and capture cf Poui-ee, battle of Beejapore, and affair of
Koondry (Medal with Clasp).
^ Captain Whigham served with the 42nd Highlanders in the Crimea from 2nd Dec. 1854, including the expedition
to Kertch, siege and fall of Sebastopol, and assault of the outworks on 18th June (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish
Medal).
■* Captain Goldie served with the gth Lancers throughout the suppression of the Indian mutiny in 1857-59, includ¬
ing the battle of Budlekeserai, siege operations assault and capture of Delhi, actions of Bolundshuhur and Ally-
ghur, battle of Agra, affair of Kanouge, relief of Lucknow by Lord Clyde, battle of Cawnpore on 6th Dec, action at
Seraighat, action at Shumshabad (in command of a Squadron), siege and capture of Lucknow, the summer cam¬
paign in Oude and Rohilcund and actions of Rhodamow and AUyghur, capture of Bareilly, action at Shahjehanpore
and pursuit to Mahomdee, passage of the Gogra at Fyzabad and affair at Kumdakoti (Medal with Clasps).
5 Lieut. Hamond served with the 3rd Dragoon Guards in the Abyssinian campaign in 1868 (Medal).
' Captain Dynon served with the i6th Lancers during the campaign in Affghanistan under Lord Keane, including
the siege and capture of Ghuznee (Medal). He served also at thebattleof Maharajpore, gth Dec. 1843 (Bronze Star).
Also in the Sutlej campaign in 1846, including the battles of Buddiwal, Aliwal, and Sobraon (Medal and Clasps).
' Riding Master Brown served with the i6th Lancers during the campaign in Affghanistan under Lord Keane in
1839, including the siege and capture of Ghuznee (Medal).
