including the storm and capture of Ohuznee (woundedl and of Khelat (Medal for Ghuznee). Served with the 72nd Highi
landers in the Persian war in 1H57; commanded a Brigade in the night attack and battle of Rooshab ICB.), and the 7(lth al
the bombardment of Mohumrah. Served with Havelock's column in IK?, present in the .action at Bithoor, commanded th
Regt. in the several actions leading to and emling in the relief of the llesidency at Lucknow. Succeeded to the comman
of the 1st Brigade on the death of General Neil on 2jth Sept. and held that command during the whole of the operation
throughout the defence of the llesidency, also for two months with Oulram's force at ."ilumbagh including the repulse (
several attacks, and the operations ending in the final capture of Lucknow (frequently mentioned in Dispatches). Serve
the Rohilcund campaign in Apr. 1858, and commanded the 2d Brigade at the capture of Bareilly.
