of Major, Turkish Medal, and 5;h Class of the
Medjidie). Also in the Indian campaii,'n of
1857-.'58, including the cajiture of Mecangiinge,
siege and capture of Lucknow, and affairs of
Barrec and Nuggur (Medal and Clasp).
4 Major liolleston served at the second re¬
lief of Liicknow and commanded a picquet
post until the evacuation (mentioned in de¬
spatches. Brevet Major); present with Out-
ram's force at the Alum liagh, also at the
assault and capture of Lnckuow (Medal and
Clasps).
, -5 Major O'Brien commanded a Company of
"0 the 84th Regt. forming part of the garrison of
P 2 Mar. 60 i Lueknow from its first investment and was

1 sir George Augustus Wctherall was in action witli a squadron of French frigates in the Mozambique Clianncl in June 18i0; in the attaclc
of a squadron of French frigates in port S.E. of the Isle ol France in July 1810. At the attack and conquest of Java in 1811, as Aide de
Camp to Major Gen. WetheraU, for which he has received the War Medal with one Clasp. He was appointed a CB. for his distinguished
services in the suppression of the insurrection in Canada.
2 Lt.Colonel I.ightfoot served as Brigade Major to the 5th Brigade at the second relief of Lncknow and at the defeat
of the Gwalior rebels at Cawnpore, present at the passage of the Kala Nuddee, commanded the S4th Regt. from the
23rd Jan. 1858 at the Alum Bagh, capture of Lucknow, relief of Azimghur, and pursuit of Koer Sing (several times
mentioned in despatches, Brevet Major, Medal and Clasp).
9 Captain Penton served in the Indian camp.aign of 1857-58,—joined ITavelock's force at Cawni)ore, present in the actions of
Mungawar and Alumbagh, headed a party which stormed and took possession of a gate through which the relieving force had
to pass on its way t ..e Residency of Lucknow, commanded a Company in the sortie of 29th Sept. when a number of guns
was taken, and at the storming of the Him Khannah he extricated his Commanding Officer Major Willis from a mine pit
while exposed to a heavy fire from three points and was the first in through the breach ; present with Outram's force at the
Alumbagh ; at the fall of Lucknow commanded three companies of the 84th Regt. at the storming of the Kaisabagh ; served
with Lugard's Column and present in the actions of the I7th and 26th April, relief of Azimghur, aud pursuit ot Kocr Sing
(Medal au(l,Cl.isps).
10 Captain Barry joined Haveloek's force on its first taking the field, and was present in the actions of Futtehpore, Aoung,
Pandoo Nuddee, Cawnpore, Oonao, Buseerut Gunge (1st and 2nd), Bithoor, Mungawar, and Alumhagh, relief of Lucknow
(severe contusion of right side), and commanded a Company at the storming the Hirn Khannah; with Outtara'a force at the
Alum Bagh, also at the capture of Lucknow and relief of Azimghur (Jledal and Clasps).
