paign of 1854-55, hitterly as D.A.Q-M.G. lo the Royal Kiigiiieers (Medal and three Clasps,
Sardinian M'.dal, and 5th Class of the Medjidia).
95 Captain Stuart served during the operations of 1856-58 at Canton ; was present at
the capture and demolition of French Folly Fort and at the formation of defensive posi¬
tion at the Factories ; led the French Storming Party at the assault of Canton, and was
thanked l)y the French Naval Commander in Cliief.
96 Captain Philips servedin the Crimoafroni Sept. 1864 to Feb. 1855 (Medaland Clasps,
and 6th Class of the Medjidie).
97 Captain Martin served at the siege of Sebastopol from Sept. 1854 to Feb. 1855
(Midal and Clasp, Knight of the Legion of Honor, and 5th Class of the Medjidie).
98 Major Cowell embarked on board the Baltic Fleet with a detachment of Royal
Sappers and Miners in Feb. 1854; in July was appointed Aide de Camp to Brigadier
General Harry Jones, and served as such at tlie operations against Bomarsund (Baltic
Medal); accompanied General Jones as Aide de Camp to the Ci'imca in Jan. 1865, and
continued with him until his return to England (Medal with Clasp for Sebastopol, Knight
of the Legion of Honor, and 6th Class of the Medjidie).
99 Major Graham served at the siege of Sebastopol and assault of the Redan on the
18th June 1855 (Medal and Clasp, Victoria Cross, Knight of the Legion of Honor, and
6th Cla<s of the Medjidie).
100 Captain Drake served at the siege of Sebastopol from Nov. 1864 to May 1865
(Medal and Clasp, Knight of the Legion of Honor, and 5th Class of the Medjidie).
101 Captain Pratt served during the operations crossing the Danube in July 1864, and
received the Turkish Gold Medal for that campaign. Servedduring the Crimean campaign
until the end of May 1855 (Medal and Clasp, Sardinian Medal, and 5th Class of the
Medjidie).
10'2 Captain James served at the siege of Sebastopol from Feb. 1855 until taken prisoner
of war on 2nd July (Medal and Clasp, and 5th Class of the Medjidie). Was attached to
the Turco-Russian Boundary Commissions in Bessarabia and Asia in 1856-57.
103 Captain G(n-don served in the trenches before Sebastopol from Dec. 1854 to the close of
the siege (wounded on 6th June 1865). Accompanied the column underSir John Campbell
at the attack of the Redan on tlie 18th June ; accompanied tlie Company of Sappers attached
to the expedition to Kinbourn, and present at the surrender of that fort. Was employed in
the demolition of tlie docks of Sebastopol; and subsequently employed on the Turco-
Russian Boundary Commissions in Bessarabia and Asia in 1856-57 (Medal and Clasp,
Knight of the Legion of Honor, and Turkish Medal).
104 Captain Stokes served at the siege of Sebastopol from Sept. 1854 to Marcli 1855
(Medal and Clasp).
106 Captain Donnelly served throughout the Eastern campaign of 1864-66, including the
battles in the Crimea, siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal and Clasps, and Knight of the
Legion of Honor).
106 Captain Scott served at the siege of Sebastopol in June 1856 (Medal and Clasp).
107 Captain Dumaresq served during 1865 at the siege and fall of Sebastopol; did duty
in the trenches of the right attack (Medal and Clasp).
108 Captain Scratchley served at the siege and fall of Sebastopol fronl Aug. 1855, and
accompanied the expedition to Kinbourn (Medal and Clasp, and Turkish Aledal). Served
the campaigns in Oude of 1867-58, having joined General Windham's force at Cavvn-
pore in Nov. 1867 (Medal).
109 Captain Kelsall served at the siege of Sebastopol, right attack, from Aug. 1866
(Medal and Clasp).
110 Captain Darrah served at the siege of Sebastopol from June to Aug. 1855 (Medal
and Clasp).
111 Lieut. Newsome has received the 5th Class of the Medjidie.
112 Major Edwards served in the Crimea from 14th Sept. 1865, and was employed
in the demolition of the Docks of Sebasfopol, and has received the Crimean and Turkish
Medals. Served in India in 1857-69, and commanded a Company of the Royal Engineers
throughout the campaign in Central India under Sir Hugh Rose, was present at the siege
and storming of Chandairce, siege and storming of Jhansi, actions of the Betwah, Koonch,
and Goolowlee, capture of Calpee, action before and captnre of Gwalior, and capture of
Tantia Topee (several times mentioned in despatches. Medal and Clasp, and Brevet of
Major).
113 Captain Longley served with the local rank of Captain in the Turkish Contingent
Engineers in 1866-56 for which he has the Turkish Medal. Served with the expedi¬
tionary force in China in 1857-59, and was present at the capture of Canton, affair at the
White Cloud Mountains, capture of A^amtow, attack on the Peiho forts,—dangerously
wounded (mentioned in despatches on all the above occasions).
114 Captain W. B. Qosset served as Assistant Field Engineer with the Central India
Field Force under Sir Hugh Rose in 1858; was directing Engineer with the storming
party at the as^satilt of the hill fort of Chandairee, present at the siege and storming of
Jhansi, commanded the 21st Company R. Engineers during the action of Koonch,
present at the actions of Goolowlce, Calpco, and Gwalior, and the capture of the two latter
places (several times mentioned in despatches, Medal and Clasp).
115 Lieut. Dirom served in the Chinese war in 1857-58, and was present as a Volunteer
