1 Major General Beckwiih served in the Peninsula with the 16th Light Dragoons from July 1813 to the end of that war
in 1814, Including the battle of the Nivellc, and battles of the Nive on the Dth and It tli Dec, for which he has the War
Medal with two Clasps. Served also the campaign of 181.5, and was present at the retreat on 17th June and at the battle
of Waterloo.
2 Colonel Steuart served with the 14th Lt. Drs. in the Punjaub campaign of 1818-9, including the battles of Chillianwallah
(salire wound) and Goojerat, pursuit of the enemy across the Jlielum, and"of the Affghans over the Indus through the Khyber
Pass (Medal and Clasps). Commanded a Cavalry Brigade ii] the Persian expedition of 1857 (Medal and CB.). Commanded
the 2nd Brigade of tlic Central India F'ield F'urce under Sir Hugh Hose in 1858, and was present at the siege and capture of
Rahutghur, relief of Sattgor and capture of Gurrakota, forcing the Muddenpore Pass, siege aud capture of Jhansi, battles of
Belwa and Koonch (Medal and Clasp).
3 Lt.Colonel Scudamore served with the 4th Lt. Drs. throtighout the campaign of 1838-39 in Affghanistan, including the
siege and capture of Ghuznee (Medal). Served wiili the IHh Lt. Drs. throughoiU the Punjauh campaign of 1848-49,including
the action of Ramnuggur (wounded), passage of the Cheuab, battles of ChiUiiinwallah and Goojerat—dangerously wounded
(Medal and Clasps). Commanded the Kegt. during the campaisin of 1858 in Central India under Sir Hugh Rose and was pre¬
sent at the siege and capture of Rahutgliur, action of Uarodia. Relief of Saugor, capture of Gurrakota; commanded the
detached force sent against Malthone; present at the siege and capture of Jhansi and commanded the outposts during the
investment; present at the battle of Koonch and all the affairs during the advance on Calpee including the action of Golowlie;
also at the action of Morar and recapture of Gwalior; also commanded a flyiiig column for six months in the Gwalior aud
Jhansi districts (three times mentioned in despatches, Brevet of Lt.Colonel, CB., Jledal aud Clasp).
5 Lt.Col. Todd served with the 4th Lt. Drs. throughout the campaign of 1838-39 in .^ilghanistan, including the siege and cap¬
ture of Ghuznee (Medal). Served with the 14tli Lt. Drs. througliout the Punjaub campaign of Ih<18-49, including the action of
Raninuggur, passage of the Chenab, battles of Chillianwalliih and Goojerat (.Medal and Clasps). Served as Brigade Major of
Cavalry with the Persian expedition of H 57 (Medal). Also as Brigade Major to tlie 2d Brigade of the Central India Held
force under Sir Hugh Rose in 1858 and was present at the siege and capture of Kahutghur, relief of Saugor, capture of Gar-
rakota, forcing the Muddenpore pass, siege aiLd capture of Jliansi, battles of Betwa with Koonch anil affairs during tlie
advance on Calpee and action of Golowlie; also the action of Morar, rcca|jture of Gwalior and pursuit with action of Jowra
Alipore: served as Assist. Adj. Gen. to the Gwalior Division in pursuit of the Rebels and at the action of Ranode (mentioned
in despatches, Brevet of Major, Medal and Clasp).
