2 Colonel Campbell served with the 73rd Refft. throughout the Kaffir war of 1S50-53 (Medal); present
in all the Amalola operations; wiih the Trans Kei expeditions of Dec. 1851, and Jan. 1852, and of April
1852; also in the Waterkloof operations of Oci. 1851, March 1852, and Snpt. 1852; frequently in command
of a detached force, and occasionally of the 73rd Regt.: mentioned in General Orders of March I85*J,
by Sir Harry Smith, as having, when in command of a detafhmenl of the 4;ird and 7-ird, " carried in a
very gallant style a most formidable pass, leading from Fuller^s Rock to the heights above, the enemy
dancing their xvar dance and daring hiifi to cone on, which he did to their total overthrow and rout; "
aiso, as having greatly distinguished himself on the following day, when in command of a similar party
he forced tlie 8>ime pass and descended, meeting on both occasions with great opposition and severe loss:
received the Brevet rank of Maj'>r for his services. Served in the siege operations before Sebastopol with
the Licht Division from (he winter of 1854 to 18th July 1855,and in command of tlie 90ih Light Infanfry
(Medal and Clasp, and Knight of the Legion of Honor): commanded the storming party which captured
and defended the Quarries (twice wounded); present at the assault of the Redan on the 18th June; *a8
several times mentioned in the Dispatches; nominated CB., and promoted Colonel in the army for '* dis¬
tinguished services" in the Held.

9 Major Crealock served in ihe Crimea from 5th Uec. 1854 to 10th Feb. 1855, smd again Irom 28th March
1855, includine th- siege and fa 1 of Sebasioi ol (Medal and Clasp, and Brevet Major).
10 Captain Woiseley served with the 80th Regt. in the Burmese war of lH52-5a (Medal); was with the
expedition under Sir John Chi'npe asainst the robber chief Mvattoon, and severely wonnded when leading
the storniinsr partyagainst that chief's stronghold on the 19thMarch (mentioned in Di-patches). Landed
in the Crimea with the 90th Li^ht Infantry on 5th Dec. 1854 and emplovt^d in the trenche- as A' tmg
Enginepr rintil Seha^'topol was taken; "a^ engaged m the as^-ault add fenre of (he Quarries on 7th June,
and on duty in the trenches at the attack oi the 18th June: severely wouuded in a sortre 30th Aug. when
in charge of the adviinced sap—several times mentioned in Dispatches (Medal and Ctasp, and Knight of
the Legion of Honor).
11 Cnptains Wade and Rattray served at the siege and fall of Sebastopol from 5th Dec. 1854, and
were severely wounded at the assault of the Redan on the aih Sept. (Medal and Clasp). Captain Wade
ha<i also the Sardinian Medal.
12 Capti'in Magenifl served with the 90th Light Infantry at the siege and fall of Sebastnpol; romraanded
a party of the regt. at the taking of the Rifle Pits on the 19th April 1855, and was of the storming at the
assault of the Redan on the 8th Sept.—mentioned in Dispatches (Medal and Cla-p).
13 Captain Phlpps served at the siege of Sebastopol Irom 5(h Dec. 1854 to 24ih July 1855 (Medal and
Clasp).
15 Lieut. Deverill served at the siejre and fflll of Sebastopnl from 5th Dec. 1854, and wa« severely
wounded at the assault of the Redan on the 8th Sept. (Medal and Clasp).
16 Lieut. Every served at the siege and fall of S^'bastopol from 10th Aug. 1855 (Medal and Clasp).
18 Lieut. Havdock served at th^ si^ge and fall of Sebastopol from lOih Aug. 1854, and was wounded at
the assault of the Redan on the 8th Sept. (Medal and Clasp).
19 Li'ut. Goodricke servtd at the siege and fall of Sebastopol from 31st Aug. 185S, and was severely
wounded at the asi^ault of the Redan on 8th Sept. (Medal and Clasp).
20 Lieut. Wynne served at the siege and fall of Sebastopol from 12th July 1855, and was of the storming
party at the nssaiilt ol the Redan on the 8th Sei-t. (Medal and Clasp).
21 Lieut. Herford served nt the stege and lall of Setjastupol from 7th Sept. 1855, and assault of the
Redan on the 8tii Stpt. (Medtil and Cla«p).
22 Lieut. Carleton served at the siege and fall of Sebastopol from 3rd Sept. 1855 (Medal and Clasp).
23 pHymaster Williams served throughout the Kaffir war of 1846-47(Medal). Served also in the Crimea
during the siege and fall of Sebastopol from 5th Dec. 1854 (Medal and Clasp).
24 Quarter-Master Jackson served ihrouehout the KafHr war of 1846-47 (Medal). Served also in the
Crimea during the siege and fall of Sebastopol from 5th Dec. 1854 (Medal and Clafp).
25 Surgeon Home served in the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battle of Alma (Medal and
Clasp).
26 Asrtist.-Surgeon Bradshaw served with the 50th Regt. at the siege of Sebastopol from Nov. 1854
(Medal and Clasp).

6 Lt.-Co!onelWright served during the Kaffir war ori84«-47; also that of 1852-53, on the staff (Medal). Was senior sur¬
viving officer of the troops embarked in HM.S. Birkenheadt which vessel was wrecked off Danger Point, Cape of Good
Hope, on the night of the 26th Feb. 1852. Promoted to the rank of Major and awarded a pension of lOO;. per annum for
•*distinsni8hed services;" and subsequently promoted to the rank of Lieut.-Colonel for " service in the field."
7 Lt.-Col. Rawstome served in the Peninsula, tn the Chasseurs Britanniques, from Aug. 1813 to the end of the war, and was
present at the battle of Orthes : he has received the War Medal with two Clasps. Present with the 91st in the Kaffir war of
1846 and 47 (Medal), and covered with his company the movement of a division of the force from the Dobie Fiats to the
vicinity of Block Drift in April 18*6 (wounded). He commanded ihe detachment of the 91st on the expedition under
Sir Harry Smith arainst the Insurgent Boers in 1848, and had charge of the position at Botha*s Drift, Orange River, to
keep open the communication with the advanced column.
8 Major Savage served witli the detachment of the 9l9t in the expedition against the Insurgent Boers beyond the Orange
River, South Africa, in 1845 ; also in the Kaffir war of 1846-7 ; and in that in 18.^2-53 (Medal).
9 Captain Ling served the Punjaub campaijcn of 1848-49 in the 14th Lt. Dragoons, including the action at Ramnuggur
(with the charging squadrons), battles of Chillianwallah and Goojerat, crossing of the Chenab, tlie Jhelum, and the
Indus, surrender of the Seikh army at Rawul Pindee, and pursuit ot the AfTghans to Pcshawur (Medal and two Clasps),
Served with the rank of Major towards the close of the Eastern campaign of 18&5-36, as commandant of the 7th Regt.
of Albanian Cavalry.
16 Surgeon Murphy served with the 80th Regt. during the Burmese war of 1853-53, «nd was present at the taking of
Prone; also present as Staff Surgeon to the Bengal division with Sir J. Cheape** foree at D»nftl)«w, and wounded in
theatt4«k on the enemy's stockade on the 19th March 1853 (Medal),
