2 Lt.-Colonel AVarre served at the siege of Sebastopol from March 1855, and commanded the 57th Regt. at
the assaults on the Kedan on the 18th June (after Colonel Shadforth was killed) and 8th Sept.; also at the
bombardment and surrender of Kinbourn (Medal and Clasp, and CB.).
4 Lieiit.-Colimel Infills served m tiie Crimea from Sept. 1854, includin!; the battles of Balaklava and In-
kernian (commanded tiie 57tli Rest, after Captain Stanley was killed, and was honorably mentioned in
Lord Rrigliin's Dl^putch), siege and fall of Seba^topol, assault of tiie Redan on ISth June, and expedition
to Kinbourn (Medal and three Clasps, lirevets of Major and Lieut.-Colonel, and Kniglit of tlie Legion of
Honor).
7 Major Hassard served at the siege of Sebastopol from I4th Nov. 1854, and was with the storming column
at the assault of the Redan on the 18lh June; was also with the expedition to Kmbourn (Medal and
Clasp, and Brevet Major).
9 Major Butler served in the Crimea from Sept. 18.54, includrn^r the battles of Balaklava and Inkerman
(caiTied the Colors after Lieut. Hague was killed) siege and fall of Seluistopol, assault of the Kedan on
18th June, and expedition to Kinijourn (Medal and three Clasps, Brevet Major, and Knight of the
Legion of Honor).
10 Major St. Clair served in the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battles of Baluklava and
Inkermini (hor>e shot under him), siege of Sebastiipol, and attack on the Redan, 18th June—severely
wounded (Medal and Clasps, Brevet Major, and Sardinian Medal).
11 Major For^yth served the Eastern campaign of lo54-55, including the battles of Balaklava and In-
kerinan, siege of Sebiistopol, cnplure of the Quarries, attack on the Redan on the 18th June (with the
storming column), and on tlie 8tli Sept.; also at Kinbourn (Medal and Clasps. Brevet Major, Knight of
the LcL'ion of Honor, and Sardinian Medal).
12 Captain Brown served during 1855 at the siege of Sebastopol, and was with the storming party of the
.â– iTIh Regt. at the Redan on the l.stli June, and present at the attack on the 8th Sept.; was also at the
bombardment and surrender of Kinbourn (Medal and Clasp).
13 Captain Copland served at the siege of Sebastopol I'roin Nov. 18.54 to .4pril 1855 (Medal and Clasp).
14 Major Earie served in the Eastern campaign of 1854-55 as Aitle-de-Camp to Brigadier-Gen. Goldie,
who was killed at Inkerman; after which as a Brigade-Major in tlic^ 4th Division; was wounded and Nov.
1854 (Medal and Clasps, Brevet Major, and Knight of the Legion of Honor).
17 Captain Bird served at the siege and fall ot Sebastopol in 1855, and at the capture of the Quarries, and
assault of the Redan on the 18th June; also at the bombardment and capture of Kinboum (Medal and Clasp).
18 Lieut. Shortt served at the siege and fall of Sebastopol in 1854-55, and at the storming of the Quarries,
and of the Redan on the 18th June; also at the bombardment and capture of Kinbourn (Medal and Clasp).
20 Lieuts. Wilmot, Clarke, and Bayntun, served at the fall of Sebastopol, and at the bombardment and
capture of Kinbourn (Medal and Clasp).
21 Lieuts. Russell, Powell, and Hasted, .served in the Crimea from Sept. 1855, and were present at the
bombardment and capture of Kinbourn (Medal).
22 Lieuts. Schomberg and Waugh served atthe siege and fall of Sebastopol in 1855, and at the attack on
the Redan on the 18th June; also at the bombardment and capture of Kinbourn (Medal and Clasp).
23 Lieut. Grace served in the Crimea in 1854-55, and was present at the battles of Balaklava and Inkerman,
siege and fall of Sebastopol, attack on the Quarries, and on the Redan on the 18th June; also at the bombard¬
ment and capture of Kinbourn (Medal and Clasps).
24 Lieut. Slade served the Eastern campaign of 1854-.55, including the siege of Sebastopol and repulse of
two night sorties, storm and capture of the Quarries, and storming of the Redan on the 18th Juno; severely
wounded in two places (Medal and Clasp, and Sardinian Medal).
25 Ensign Phelps served at the siege of Sebastopol (as Assist.-Surgeon from 14th Nov. 1854), and at the
attack on the Redan on the 18th June; also at the bombardment and capture of Kinboum (Medal and
Clasp).
•2G Dr. MacAndrew served in the Eastern campaign from April 1855, including the expedition to Kertch,
siege and fall of Sebastopol, bombardment and cajiture of Kinbourn (Medal and Clasp).
27 Qr.-Master Balcombe served at the siege of Sebastopol from 22nd Sept. 1854; also at the bombardment
and capture of Kinbourn (Medal and Clasps).
S8 Paymaster Matthews served in the Crimea from the 22nd Sept. 1854, including the siege and fall of
Sebastopol, attack and surrender of Kinbourn (Medal and Clasp).

4 Lt.-Col. Nugent served in the field in New Zealaad during 1845-46; commanded the advanced guai'd which penetrated
the forest surroundinK Ruopekapekai and was present at the capture of that Pah on 11th Jan. 1S46.
5 Lt.-Colonei Laye was engaged in the assault and capture of Kawiti's Pah, in Kew Zealand. II ian. 1846 ; also served
throughout the campaign of 1846 and 47, and commanded the troops at AVanganuion the 19th May 184/, when the Natives
attacked the Settlement and were repulsed, for which service he was promoted Brevet Lt.-Colonel. In 1855 he joined the
staflF in Turkey, and was appointed Assistant Military Secretary to Lord Wm.Paulet, commanding the troops on the Boa-
phorus.
6 Lt.-Col. Russell served with the 22nd Regt. in Scinde during its conquest. Served with the 53th in the south of New
Zealand from 9th April 1845.
7 Major Thompson was present at every action, assault, and skirmish which took place during the operations carried on
in 1845 and 46 under Lieut.-Col Hulme, and subsequently under Colonel Despard, against the insurgent chiefs in the north
of New Zealand. He was thanked in General Orders by Sir Robert Nickle, commanding the Forces in Australia, for
" the promptitude with which he checked the insubordination among the detachments proceeding under his command
to New Zealand on board the Eginont in April 1854."
in Captain Reynolds served in the Queen's Royals throughout the campaign in AlFghanistan and Beloochistan under
Lord Keane, including the storm and capture of Glm/.nce (Medal) and of Khelat; at the assault upon Khelat his conduct
was pre-eminently gallant. In 1846 he volunteered his services in the Kaffir war, and was nttaehed to a local corps, com¬
posing a portion of the force which crossed the river Kei towards the latter end of that year (Medal).
13 Paymaster Timbrell was present, as a volunteer, with the t>ld 94th, at battles of the Kive on the 9th, 10th, 1 lib.and
13th Dec. 1813; and at the action at Sauveterre.batticsofOrthesand Toulouse, and other minor affairsin the south of France,
as an Ensign with the 87th Rejft. He has received the War Medal and three Clasps.
14 Ensign Hill served as a midshipman in the Indian Navy in the llurraese war in 1853 (Medal).
15 Quarter-Master Moir was present at the destruction of I'oinare's Pah on ,10th April 1845, at the attack on Ileki's
Pah at Mawie 8th May, destruction of the Waikiri Pah 16th May, storming of Kawiti's Pah at Ohiawai 1st July (severely
wounded on the right leg), and capture of Kawiti's Pah at Ruapekapeka llth Jan. IS47.
