in 1801 and 1802; on the ex-
, pedition to Naples under Sir
I James Craig in 1805 and 0, and
j was present at tlie battle of
iMaida, and served the cam¬
paign in Calabria. In 1809 iie
was at the capture of tlio
islands of Iscliia and i'rocida.
He served afterwards in tlie
I'eninsula witti the 2iid Butt,
of the 58ih, and was present at
the buttle of Salamanca, at the
whole of the siege of Burgos
and retreat from thence into
Portugal ; subsequently to
wliich he served with the Army
on the eastern coast of Spain.
In 1814-15 he served in Ca¬
nada; in France in 1815, and
in Jamaica in 1817. He has
received the War Medal with
two Clasps for Maida and
Salamanca.
