Ist Battalion.—Gules (crimson) : In the centre the Royal Arms of Scotland, eusigned witli tlie Imperial
Crown. Motto, " En ! Ferus Hostis " ; in base the Sphinx superscribed " Egypt."
2nd Battalion.—Gules (crimson): In the centre the Thistle and the Red and White Roses conjoined
Issuant from the same stalk all proper, ensigned with the Imperial Crown. Motto, " UnUa Fortior "; in
base the Sphinx superscribed "Egypt"; in the dexter canton the Union.
T/ie Regimental Colours :—
The Union: In the centre a company badge ensigned with the Imperial Crown; in base ttie Sphinx
superscribed " Egypt."
The 24 company badges are borne in rotation, 2 at a time, one on the Regimental Colour of each of the two
Battalions.
The following honorary distinctions are borne upon eacli of tlie King's and Regimental Colours; in the case
of the Great War honours, only those shown in lieavy tj-pe are borne :—
