Commissaries General.
1 Sir William Smith served the Crimean Campaign {CB. Knight of the Legion of Honor, and
Turkish Medal).
•2 Mr. George Adams served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battle of Alma
and siege of Sebastopol (Medal and Clasps, CB., 4th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
3 Mr. Carey has received the War Medal with seven Clasps for Talavera, Salamanca, Vittoria,
Pyrenees, Kivelle, Orthes, and Toulouse. Was the superintending commissariat officer attached
to the 2nd Division under Sir Henry Clinton during the battle of Waterloo and subsequent
march to and capture of Paris ; and afterwards was tlie senior British commissary of the mixed
commission of Britislrand French commissaries appointed to superintend the supply of the allied
corps of the army of occupation in the North of France, until the evacuation of that country in
1818.
4 Mr. Dobree has received the War Medal with eight Clasps for Sahagun and Benevente,
Barrosa, Vittoria, St. Sebastian, Nivelle, Nive, Orthes, and Toulouse.
5 Mr. Drake has received the War Medal with two Clasps for Corunna and Biisaco.
7 Mr. Laidley has received the War Medal with three Clasps for Fuentes d'Onor, Ciudad
Rodrigo, and St. Sebastian.
9 Mr, Watt served in the Peninsula, and has received the War Medal with six Clasps for
Salamanca, Pyrenees, Nivelle, Nive, Orthes, and Toulouse ; also the KaflSr Medal.
Deputy Commissaries General.
1 Mr. Barney has received the War Medal with two Clasps for Corunna and Busaco.
2 Mr. Booth has received the War Medal with ten Clasps for Corunna, Talavera, Busaco,
Salamanca, Vittoria, Pyrenees, Nivelle, Nive, Orthes, and Toulouse.
3 Mr. Bowers served in the Peninsula and has the War Medal with one Clasp for St. Sebastian.
4 Mr. Darling served in the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, with the Light Division, including
the battles of Alma and Inkerman, and siege of Sebastopol (Medal and Clasps, Knight of the
Legion of Honor, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
5 Mr. Daniel has received the War Medal with seven Clasps, for Salamanca, Vittoria, Py¬
renees, Nivelle, Kive, Orthes, and Toulouse.
C Mr. Davenport served the Syrian campaign of 1840 (Medal).
7 Mr. Graham has the Kaffir Medal.
8 Mr. Midwood served at the siege of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
10 Mr. Nugent has received the War Medal with five Clasps for Roleia, Vimiera, Talavera,
Busaco, and Fuentes d'Onor.
11 Mr. Salwey was present at the storm and destruction of the Native Mandingo town of
Sabajee on the Gambia 1st Jur.e 1853.
Assistant Commissaries General.
1 Mr. Chalmers has the War Medal with four Clasps for Salamanca, Vittoria, Nivelle, and Nive.
2 Messrs. Henry Clarke, Curl!, and Johannes de Smidt,have received the Kaffir Medal.
3 Mr. Archer served at the siege of Sebastopol (Medal and Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
4 Mr. Reed has received the War Medal with one Clasp for Vittoria.
6 Mr. Riddell has the War Medal with four Clasps for Salamanca,Vittoria,Orthes, and Toulouse.
6 Mr. Erskine served as a Captain of the 8th Regiment Anglo-Spanish Legion in 1835-G, and
has received a Medal for St. Sebastian, 5th May, and the Cross of First Class of the Order of
San Fernando for Altza, 6th June 1836.
7 Mr. Skinner served in Commissariat charge with the expedition sent against the Kaffir chief
" Tola " in 1843. Also served throughout the Kaffir wars of 1845-47, and 1850-52 (Medal).
9 Mr. Wybault has the War Medal with three Clasps for Busaco, Fuentes d'Onor, and Salamanca.
10 Mr. Baker has received the Medal for the Kaffir War.
Deputy Assistant Commissaries General.
1 Mr. Anderson has received the War Medal with one Clasp for Salamanca.
2 Mr. Bain has received the War Medal with three Clasps for Nive, Orthes, and Toulouse.
3 Mr. Dilke has received the War Medal with five Clasps for Vittoria, Pyrenees, Nivelle,
Nive, and Orthes.
5 Mr. Maclean has the Kaffir Medal.
