9 Captain Davern served with the 53rd Regt.in the Punjaub campaign in 1849, including the battle of Goojerat (Medal
with Clasp). Expedition against the Hill Tribes on the Peshawur frontier in 1851-52. Campaigns in India in 1857-58,
including the action of Kallee Nuddee, entry into Futtehghnr, action of Shumahabad, storm and capture of Meean-
gunge, siege and capture of Lucknow, affair of Koorsie, and minor affairs (Medal with Clasp).

1.3 Major Yacher served throughout tlie Eastern cam|.aign of 1854-55,—wilh the 33rd Ifegt. in the campaign of 1854 until
November, when ho was appointed Assistant Engineer, right attack, and served in llie trenches until l-'eb. 1855, when
he was transferred to the General Staff, and held the appointment of D. A. Q. M. Gen. at Head Quarters during the
remainder of the war, and present at the battles of Alma and Inlierman, siege and fall of Sevastopol (Medal with three
Clasps, Brevet Major, Kniglit of the Legion of Honor, 5lh Class of the i\ledj:die, and Turkish Medal).
14 Captain Ccokesley served with the 97th Regt. in Bengal in suppressing i he mutiny in 1857-58,—with the .lounporc field
force in Ihe actions of Chanda, Ummeerpore, and Sultanpore, afterwards at the siege and capture of Lucknov; (Medal
