1* Captain Baird served with the
2nd Battalion York and Lancaster
Regiment throughout the Egyptian
war of 1882, and was present in the
engagements at El Magfar and TeN
el-Mahuta, in the two actions at Kaf-
sasin, and at the battle of Tel-EI-
Kebir (Medal with Clasp, and Khe¬
dive's Star).
