" Goueral Foster served with the i6th Lancers during the campaign in Affghanistan under Lord Keano,
iiioludmg the siege and capture of Ghuznee (Medal with Clasp). He served also at the battle of Maharajporo,
gth Dec. 843 (Bronze Star); and in the campaign on the Sutlej m 1846, including the battles of Buddiwal, Aliwal
(as Aide de Camp to Brigadier Cureton), and Sobraou (Medal and Clasp).
" Colonel Davison served in the Nile Expedition in 1884-85 with the Heavy Camel Regiment, and was present
at the action of Abu Klea and in the reconnaissance to &etammeh (twice mentioned in despatches Brevet of
Lt.Colon^l, Medal with two Clasps, and Khedive's Star).
° Major Babington served with the Bechuanaland Expedition under Sir Charles Warren in 1884-85.
" Captain Aylmer served in the Ashanti war from the 30th November 1S73 ; commanded the Gape Coast Volunteers
of Wood's Regiment, with the advanced guard under Major Furze during the march to the Prahj and afterwards
commanded the post of Essiamanon the line of communications (.Medal with Clasp).
' Major James served with the 17th Lancers in the Zulu war of 1879, and was present in the engagement at
Ulundi -wounded and charger wounded (Medal with Clasp). Served in the Egyptian war of 1882 as Aide de Camp
to Lt.General Willis, Commanding the ist Division, and waspresent at the engagements of El Magfar, Tel-el-Mahuta
and Kas-<.aain (gth Sept.) and in the battle of Tel-el-Kebir (mentioned in despatches. Brevet of Major, Medal with
Cl isp, 4tli Glass of the Medjidie, and Khedive's Star). Served with the expedition to the Soudan in 1885 as Deputy
Assistant Adjutant and Quarter Master General from the i6th March to the 18th April; afte wards organised and
commanded the Camel Corps; was present in the engagement at Hasheen and at the destruction of Temai (men¬
tioned in despatches, Clasp).
' Captain Wyndham Quin served with the Inniskilling Dragoons in the Boer war of i83i.
'" Lieut. Symonds served in the Zulu war in 1879 with the 17th Lancers, and was present in the cavalry affair
at Erzungayan and in the engagement at Ulundi (Medal with Clasp).
