» Colonel Allan served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55 with the 41st Regiment, including the battles of Alma
and Inkerman, siege and fall of Sebastopol, repulse of the sortie on 26th October, and assault of the Redan on the
8th .September (Medal with Clasps, Knight of the Legion of Honor, and Turkish Medal).
^ Lt.Colonel Haydock served with the 90th Light Infantry in the Crimea from the 10th August 1855, including the
siege and fall of Sebastopol, and was with the storming party at the assault of the Redan on the 8tli September—
wounded (Meilal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Also served during the Indian campaign of 1857-5S, and was
present with Havelock's Column at the actions of Mungawar and Alnmbagh, relief and subsequent defence of Luck-
now, defence of the Alumbagh under Outram, siege and fall of Lucknow (Medal with two Clasps, and a year's
service).

'S Captain Wauchope served in tho Ashanti war from the 3o1ih November 1873. Commanded the W^innobah company
of Russell's Regiment from the Prah to the Adansi Hills ; then served as Staff Officer to Colonel M'Leod commaudir.g
the Advanced Guard, and was present at the capture and destruction of Adubiassie, capture of Borljorassie, liattie
of Amoaful, capture and destruction of Becquah, Advanced Guard engagement of Jarljinbah (wounded slightlj'),
skirmishes and ambuscade affairs between Adwabin and the river Ordah, and battle of Ordahsu—severely wounded
(mentioned in despatches. Medal with Clasp).
21 Captain Stevenson served as Adjutant of the 42nd Highlanders throughout the second phase of the Ashanti war
in 1874, and was present at the battle of Amoaful (wounded slightly), capture and destruction of Becquah, battle
of Ordahsu and capture of Coomaseie (twice mentioned in despatches, Medal with Clasp).
22 Cajitains Grogan (wounded slightly at Ordahsu) and Moubray (wounded slightly .at Amoaful) served throughout
the second phase of the Ashanti war in 1874, and were present at the battle of Amoaful, capture and destnictiou of
Becquah, battle of Ordahsu and capture of Coomassie (Modal with Clasp).
2-1 Quarter Master Forbes served with the 42nd Highlanders throughout tho Eastern campaign of 1854-55, in¬
cluding the battles of Alma and Balaklava, expedition to Kertch and Yenikali, siege and fall of Sebastopol and
assaults of the i8th June and 8th Septemljer (Medal with three Clasps, and Tm-kish Medal). Served also the
campaign of 1857-58 against tho mutineers in India, including the actions at Cawnporo (6th Dec. 1857), Serai-
ghaut, Khodagunge, and Shumshabad, siege and fall of Lucknow, and assault of the Martiniere, Banks' Bungalo,
and Begum's Kotee, attack on the Port of Boohea, action at Allygnnge, battle of Bareilly, and action at
Sisseagiiaut (Medal with Clasp). Served throughout tho second pliasc of the Ashanti war in 1874, and was pro-
sent at the battle of Amoaful, battle of Ordahsu and captura of Coomassio (Medal with Clasp).
