" Major Traill served throughout the Chinese campaign of i860, ivas present at the action of Sinho, capture of
Tangku, and engaged with the storming party at the fall of the Taku Forts; afterwards had charge of the demolition
of the forts on the south side of the Peiho (Medal with Clasp).
" Major Filgate served as Assistant Field Engineer throughout the Chinese campaign of i860, and was present
at the action of Sinho, captures of Tangku and the Taku Ports, and surrender of Pekin (Medal with two Clasps).

Trans Indus Frontier, from Peshawurdown to Derah IshmailKhan, during which he served as Field Engineer in
many of the encounters with the Hill Tribes on the Frontier ; attheattacks of Suggow, PuUi, andZormundi, under
Colonel Bradshaw; in the affiiir of the Kohat Pass, under Sir Charles Napier; in the actions of Prangzai, Nowa-
dund, Shahkote, and Raneezai, under Sir Colin Campbell; the attack of Boree under Colonel Boileau; and subse¬
quently, in i860, in the expedition against the Mahsood Wuzeerees, under Sir Neville Chamberlain (Medal with
Clasp). In 1857, during the mutiny of the Bengal Army, he was at first attached to the Staff of Brigadier General
Neville Chamberlain when that officer was commanding the Punjaub Movable Column, and subsequently accom¬
panied him to Delhi, where he was also employed during the siege as Field Engineer, and was severely wounded
(Brevet of Major, Medal with Clasp).
' Major General Fuller served in the Punjanb campaign of 1848-49, including the siege and surrender of Mooltan,
and was severely wounded by the explosion of a magazine in the town (Medal with Clasp).

the Abyssinian Expeditionary Force at ZouUa from the first landing of the Reconnoitring Party till the end of 1867,
at Seanfe during January 1868, from that time to the close of the campaign as Senior Engineer of the Force which
marched on Magdala; present at the action of Arogee and storming of Magdala (mentioned in despatches as having

Assistant Field Engineer with the Okamundel and Kattywar Field Force in 1859. Served as Brigade Major of Royal
Engineers with the Abyssinian Expeditionary Force throughout the campaign (mentioned in despatches for the
" efiicient manner in which he carried on the duties of his appointment," Brevet of Major, and Medal).

Abyssinian Expeditionary Force, and had charge of the survey and works proposed and partly executed in connec¬
tion with the supply of water to Zoulla from Koomeylee, 12 miles (Med.il).
27 Major A. Le Messurier served as Assistant Field Engineer with the Okamundel Field Force in 1859. Served in
the Abyssinian campaign as head of the Water Supply Departments to the Army. Organized the watering arrange¬
ments at each post and accompanied the advanced force to Magdala; present at the action of Arogee, and amongst
the first who entered Magdala (mentioned in despatches, Medal).
