^"'' Lt.General Daubeny served with the 62nd Regt. in the Crimean campaign from the 13th Nov. 1854 to the 5th

to the command), on the Redan 18th June (commanded the Regt.), and again on the Sth Sept. (Medal with Clasp,
Brevet of Lt.Colonel, Knight of the Legion of Honor, 5th Class of the Medjidio, and Turkish Medal, CB).
''* Lt.General Warden served with the 19th Regt. the Easterncampaign of 1854-55, includingthe battles of A.lma
(severelj- wounded) and Inkerman, siege of Sebastopol (wounded); was of the party that first held the Quarries ;
commanded 400 of the 97th Regt. in the Trenches at the assault of the i8th June; succeeded to the command of the
19th Regt. at the storming of the Redan on the Sth Sept. (severely wounded), and took the Brigade out of action

'" Lt.General Morris served in the Eastern campaign from October 1854 to July 1856 ; commanded a Field Battery
at the repulse of the sortie on the 26th Oct. 1854 at the battles of Balaklava and Inkerman (mentioned in despatches).
Was attached from April to Nov. 1855 as Military Commissioner to the 2nd Corps of the French Army, and assisted
at the carrying of the Lines of Tchernaya 25th May, the assault and capture of the Mamelon, and of the Malakoff;
on the personal Staff of General Bosquet, who commanded on these occasions, and was especially named by the
Genera! in official despatches. Was appointed an Assistant Adjutant General in Nov. 1855, and attached to
General Windham, Chief of the Staff (Medal with three Clasps, CB., Brevets of Major and Lt.Colonel, Officer of
the Legion of Honor, Sardinian and Turkish Medals, and 5th Class of the Medjidie).
1*" Lt.General Thompson served as a Captain in the British Legion, and wasengagedatHemam', 30th Aug. 1835;
atArlaban, i6th 17th and i8th .Ian.;and the action before San Sebastian, 5th May 1836, when hewas severely wounded
in the hip and the hand (KSF. and Medal). Served the campaign of the Punjaub in the 14th Light Dragoons,
was engaged at Ramnuggur (horse wounded) 22nd Nov. 1848, at ChilUanwallah 13th Jan., and at Goojerat 21st
Feb. 1849 (Medal with two Clasps). Present also at the crossing of the Chenab, Jhelum, and Indus; at the surrender
of the Sikh army at Rawul Pindee, the capture of the Bridge of Boats at Attock, andpursuit of the Affghans to Peshawur.
Commanded the 7th Dragoon Guards in India continuously from 1857 to 1867.
'^' Lt.General M. Bruce served with the Grenadier Guards in the Crimea from the 29th March to the 30th May
1855 (Medal with Clasp for Sebastopol, and Turkish Medal).
'^^ Lt.General Glj-n served as Field Adjutant to the Force under Sir Harry Smith in the action with and defeat
of the rebel Boers atBoem Plaats (horse killed). Served with the Rifle Brigade in the Kaffir war of 1852-53 (Medal).
Also the Eastern campaign as a Brigade Major and Assistant Adjutant General in the Light Division, including the
battles of Alma and Inkerman, and siege oi' Sebastopol (Medal with three Clasps, Brevets of Major and Lt.Colonel,
Knight of the Legion of Honor, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Modal). Served the Indian campaigns of
1857-59, including the defeat of the Gwalior Contingent at Cawnpore on 6th December, final cajiture of Lucknow,
action at Nawabgunge (commanded Battalion), and subsequent operations (Medal with Clasp, and CB.).
121 Major General Fraser acted as Staff Otficer to a Detachment sent from Bomba,y in 1837 against the rebels in
Canara. Served also with the 6th Regiment in the Kaffir war of 1846-47 (Medal). He was commissioned in Oct.
1857 to raise the 2nd Battalion 6th Regiment, and having within one month raised considerably upwards of 1,000
recruits, was Gazetted on the 25th Nov. 1857 its Lieutenant Colonel. This Battalion cmVjarked in May 1858 for service
at Gibraltar.
125 Major General G.W. P. Bingham served with the 64th Regt. in the Persian campaign of 1856-57, including the
storm and cajiture of Reshire, surrender of Bushire, night attack and battle of Kooshab (Medal with Clasp). Served
in Bengal andN.W. Provinces in suppressing the mutiny in 1857-58 ; present with Havelock's Column in the actions
of Futtehpore, Aoung, Pandoo Nuddee, Cawnpore, Onao, Buseerutgunge (1st and 2nd), Boorbeakechowkee, and
Bithoor; commanded a convoy with provisions from Cawnpore to Alumbagh ; served in defence of the Aliunbagh,
and afterwards in the actions at La Martiniere and the second relief of Lucknow ; coimnanded the Regt. during the
defence of Cawnpore and defeat of the Gwalior mutineers, as also in the actions of Kala Nuddoe and Kerkeroulio—on
General Penny being killed succeeded to the command of the whole Infantry Brigade—capture of Bareilly, Shahje-
hanpore, Eunnie, Mahomdie, pursuit of the enemy the following day, and occupation of Mahomdie (mentioned in
despatches, CB., Medal -svith Clasp).
126 Major General ConoUy served the Eastern campaign of 1854 as Brigade Major to the Heavy Cavalry Brigade,
including the battle of Balaklava, and siege of Sebastopol (Medal with two Clasps, Knight of the Legion of Honor,
5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
127 Major General Hope served with the 71st Highlanders in the Crimean campaign from 20th Dec. 1854, including
the siege and fall of Sebastopol, and expedition to Kertch (Medal with Clasp, Knight of the Legion of Honor, 5th
Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal). Served in Central India under Sir John Michel in 1858, and was present
at the actions of Raj ghur (in command of a Bi-igade), Mungrowlee, Sindwaho, and Kurai {CB., Medal, and mentioned
in despatches). Commanded the 71st in the operations in Eusafzyein 1863 under Sir N. Chamberlain—wonnded on
the 20th Nov. at the recapture of the Crag Piquet (mentioned in despatches, and thanked by the Commander in
Chief in India, Medal with Clasp).
128 Major General Curtis was present at the taking of Balmeer, Kundak, Dadur, and Kuj.iak (mentioned in
despatches), Punjaub campaign, including siege of Mooltan in 1848-49 (mentioned, Medal with Clasp). Served as
Director of Transport Corps in the Persian campaign of 1857, including the battle of Kooshab and bombardment of
Mohumrah (mentioned. Brevet of Lt.Colonel, and Medal). Served in the IniUan mutiny campaign in Central India
in 1858, and was present in the actions of Sindwaho (wounded), Korye, Koondye (mentioned, Medal).
125 Major General T. E. Knox commanded the 67th Regiment throughout the campaign of i860 in China, including
the action of Sinho, taking of Tongho, and led the storming party across the main ditch at the taking of the inner
Takoo Fort, when seventy-seven officers and men of the 67th were killed or wounded; also present at the surrender
of Pekin (mentioned in despatches, CB., Medal with two Clasps).
