bebastopol, and repulse of the sortie on the 26th October 1854 (Medal with four Clasps, Brevet of Major, Sardmian

53 Colonel Yates served in the Eastern campaign of 1854, including the affair at M'Kenzie's Farm, battles of Alma
and Inkei-man, siege of Sebastopol, and repulse of the sortie on the 26th October 1854 (Medal with three Clasps
Brevet of Major, Sardinian and Turkish Medals, and 5th Class of the Medjidie). Served in the Indian campaign of
1057-58, present at the action of Secundra, siege and capture of Lucknow, commanded Royal Horse Artillery at
the affairs of Saragunge on 23rd and 29th of July, also commanded the Artillery in the actions at Sultanpore on
13th and 28th Aug. 1858 (three times mentioned in despatches. Brevet of Lt.Colonel, Medal with Clasp, and CB.).
3* Colonel W. J. Williams sei-ved in the Crimean campaign from May 1855, including the siege and fall of
Sebastopol (wounded), in Trenches with siege train, and at bombardments of 6th and 17th June (Brevet of Maior
Medal with Clasp, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
3" Colonel Pennycuick served in the Crimean campaign from November 1854, including the battle of Inkerman,
siege and fall of Sebastopol (Brevet of Major, Medal with two Clasps, Sardinian and Turkish Medals, and 5th
Class of the Medjidie). Served in the Indian campaign of 1857-58, including the relief of Lucknow by Lord Clyde,
battle of Cawnpore on the 6th Dec, actions of Seria Ghat, Chanda, and Sultanpore, siege and capture of Lucknow'
and action of Barree (Medal with two Clasps). Served with the expedition to China in i860, and was present
at Tangku, capture of Taku Forts, and surrender of Pekin (Medal with two Clasps, Brevet of Lt Colonel
and CB. '
">' Colonel Oldershaw served in the Crimean campaign from January 1855, including the siege and fall of
Sebastopol, in the Trenches with the siege train, and bombardment of April; was employed on special service in
1855-56 (Medal with Clasp, Brevet of Major, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
9* Colonel G. C. Henry served in the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battle of Inkerman, siege and
fall of Sebastopol (Medal with two Clasps, Brevet of Major, Sardinian and Turkish Medals, and 5th Class of the
Medjidie). Served the Indian campaign in 1858-59, and commanded a Field Battery attached to Colonel Kelly's
Force in the attack and defeat of the rebel forces posted on the first range of the Nepaul Hills on the 25th and 28th
March 1859 (mentioned in despatch. Medal).
55 Colonel N. O. S. Turner sei-ved in the Crimean campaign from March to September 1855, including the siege
and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, Brevet of Major, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal). Served
in India in 1858, and was present at the siege and capture of Lucknow, affair of Tigree, relief of Azimphur, action
near Azimutghur, operations in the; Jungle, and capture of Jugdespore; as Brigade Major to the Oude Field Force
under Lord Clyde in 1858-59, and present at the capture of the Fort of Amathei, and action of Dundeikera (three
times mentioned in despatches. Brevet of Lt.Colonel, Medal with Clasp, and CB.).
1™ Colonel P. J. Campbell served in the Kaffir war of 1851-53 (Medal). Also in the Crimean campaign from
June to December 1855, including the siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
loi Colonel Twiss served in the Crimean campaign from May to July 1855, including the siege of Sebastopol
{Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Served at Canton with the force under Rear Admiral Seymour in 1856-57.

los Colonel Davis sei-ved in the Crimean campaign from 6th July 1855, including the siege and fall of Sebas¬
topol, and battle of the Tchernaya (Medal with Clasp, Victoria Cross, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal,

110 Colonel W. J. Bolton served m the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, m the Trenches with the siege train
throughout the siege of Sebastopol, including the bombardments of 17th October, gth April, 6th and 17th June, 17th
August and 8th September; was also present at the battle of Inkerman (mentioned in despatches. Brevet of Major,
Medal with two Clasps, Knight of the Legion of Honor, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal). In 1870
while serving as Brigade Major of Royal Artillery in Canada he volunteered for the Red River Expedition, to
which he was appointed Chief Staff Officer, and on the return of the force was honorably mentioned in despatches
and made a CMQ. for his services therewith.

the fortified city of Najow, the affair at Nanksiang, and recapture of the walled city of Kahding.
