' The Duke of Cambridge commanded the ist Division of the Eastern Army throughout the campaign of 1854, in¬
cluding the battles of the Alma, Balaklava, and Inkerman (horse shot), and siege of Sebastopol (Medal with four
Clasps, and Turkish Medal).
7 Colonel Burnaby served in the Eastern campaign from Nov. 1854 up to 28th July 1855, including the battle
of Inkerman and siege of Sebastopol (Medal with two Clasps, Brevet of Major, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turk¬
ish Medal).
1" Colonel Sturt served in the Eastern campaign of 1854, including the battles of Alma, Balaklava, and Inker-
man (severely wounded), and siege of Sebastopol (Medal with four Clasps, Sardinian and Turkish Medals, and 5th
Class of the Medjidie).
17 Colonel Wynne served at the siege and fall of Sebastopol from 29th July 1855 (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish
Medal).
18 Colonel Earle served with the 49th Regiment throughout the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the
battles of Alma and Inkerman, siege of Sebastopol, .sortie of 26th Oct., and assault of the Redan on i8th June
(Medal with three Clasps, Sardinian and Turkish Medals, and 5th Class of the Medjidie).
