' Sir Henry Bentinck left England with the
Guards the 22nd February 1S54, and commanded
that Brigade during the Eastern campaign until
the 8th November, including the battles of Alma,
Balaklava, and Inkerman (wounded in the arm),
siege of Sebastopol, and in support of the 2nd
Division at the repulse of the sortie of 26th October.
Was appointed to the 4th Division after the fall of
Sir George Cathcart, but prevented by wound
andill-healthfromjoiningit till the ist June 1855 ;
continued in command until the loth October
(Medal with four Clasps, KCB., Commander of
the Legion of Honor, Sardinian and Turkish
Medals, and 2nd Class of the Medjidie).

' Lt.Colonel Dickins served the Eastern campaign of 1854 and up to 19th July 1855 with the 38th Regiment, including
the battles of Alma and Inkerman, and siege of Sebastopol; with Volunteer Sharpshooters from 17th Oct. to 20th
Nov.; repulse of a sortie on 21 St Dec.; commanded the Light Company in the attack of the Cemetery on the i8th
June ; was severely wounded in the advanced Trenches on the 2nd July (Medal with three Clasps, Knight of the
Legion of Honor, and Turkish Medal).
* Major Brodigan serve<l the Eastern campaign of 1855 with the 28th Regiment, including the siege of Sebastopol
and affair in the Cemetcrj'—severely wounded while assisting to rescue a wounded soldier who lay in advance
exposed to a heavy fire of musketry (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Served with the Okamundel Field
Force in 1859, and was present at the storming and capture of Bej't (wounded), reconnaissance before, siege, and
occupation of Dwarka.
' Captains Thackeray and AVebb commanded the Ladder Party at the assault of Beyt on 6th October, and served
with the Okamundel Field Force in the operations before Dwarka till nth Nov. 1859.
' Captain Ducat served as Adjutant to the Detachment 28th Regiment with the Okamundel Field Force of 1859.
Commanded the Sharpshooters at the assault of the fort of Beyt (mentioned in despatches), and was present at the
reconnaissance before, siege, and occupation of Dwarka.
7 Captain CoUingwood served with the 97th Regiment in Bengal in suppressing the mutiny in 1857-58, and was
present in the actions of Nusrutpore, Chanda, Ummeerpore, and Sultanpore, also at the siege and capture of
Lnckncw (Medal with Clasp).
"> Iiicut. Hughes served with the ist West India Regiment during the second phase of the Ashanti War, and
was present at the repulse of the enemy's attack on the post of Fommauah ( Medal with Clasp).
