I General Shawe served the campaigns
of ISIO, 1811, and part of 1812, in the Penin¬
sula, including the battle of Busaco. Served
also in Holland and Belgium from Nov. 1813
to 1814, and was severely wounded at Bergen-
op-Zoom. He has received the War Medal
with three Clasps for Busaco, I'uentes d'Onor,
and Cludad Rodrigo.
b Captain Thackeray served Ihroughoutthe Kaffir
war in 1851-53 (Medal).
8 Quarter Master Cole served tlie Eastern
campaign of 185i-55, including the battles of
Alma (wounded), Balaklava, »md Inkernian,
siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with four

2 Major Irby served with the 90th Light Infantry at the siege of Sebastopol from 5th Dec. 1854 to 20th Marcn 1855 (Medal
with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Served also in India from 13th Aug. 1857 until the end of the Rebellion, including the
defence of the Alumbagh, relief of I.ucknow by Lord Clyde, defence of the Alumbagh underOulram, siege and fall of Lucknow
(Medal with two Clasps, and a year's service).
4 Major Davies commanded a detachment 74th Regt. at the destruction of a band of insurgent Moplas on the 17lh
Sept. 1865, at Murroon in Miilahar. Served in the Southern Mahratta cnuntry in 1 8,')8 and commanded the Infantry of
the force at the capture of the town and fort of Nurgoond (mentioned in dispatch. Medal),
7 Captain Straghan served in the Indian Mutiny campaign in 1857-58 and was present at the storm and capture of
Shorapore (Medal).
