1 Colone Erskine served with the 33rd Ucgt. in tlie Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battle of Inkemian and
siege of Sel)astopol; he commanded the picquets of the Light Division on the 14th Oct. 1854, when they repulsed the attack
made on them hy the enemy (Medal and two Clasps, Brevet of Lt.Colonel, 5th class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
2 Colonel Robertson served in the 31st Regt. throughout the Sutlej campaign of 1845-46, including the battles of
Moodkee, Ferozeshah, Buddiwal, Aliwal, and Sobraon (Medal and three Clasps). Served in the Crimea from 2and May IS.'jB,
including the siege and fall of Sebastopol, and attacks on 18th June and 8th Sept. (Medal with Clasp, and Turkiih
Medal). Commanded the Military Train, acting as Cavalry, in the Indian campaigns of 1857-58, daily ensaged with
the enemy at the relief of Lucknow by Lord Clyde, and was in command at Dilkoosha during the enemy's grand attack on
22nd Nov.; afterwards served with the force in occupation of the Alumbagh under Outram from Nov. 1857 until March
1858, including actions of the 23rd Dec, 12th and 16th Jan., 15th 21st and 25th Feb., and many other minor afl'airs-
commanded the small force which repulsed the Enemy's Cavalry 3000 strong in their attack of the Camp on the
16th March 1838; took part in the operations ending in the fall of Lucknow; afterwards commanded the Cavalry of
Lugard's Field Force, and was present at the relief of Azimghur, capture of Jugdispore, and almost daily engaged with
Omer Singh's force between 9th May and 10th June 1858 (Brevet of Lt.Colonel, CB., Medal with two Clasps, and a year's
(ervice for Lucknow, and was frequently mentioned in dispatches).
3 Colonel O'Bnen served with the 77th Ile»t. the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battles of Alma and Inkemian
Biege and fall of Sebastopol (Brevet Major, Medal and Clasps, 5tli Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal) Served in the
87th Regt. in the Indian Mutiny campaign in 1857 (Medal).
4 Colonel Bird served in the Ceylon Kides during the Kandian rebellion of 1848. Commanded a detachment of 131 men
of the Gold Coast Corps in defence of Christiansborg castle, on the Gold Coast, during the bombardment of that and the
adjacent towns of Labody and Tacia by H. M. S. Scourge, in Sept. and Oct. 1854—wounded (Brevet of Major). Adminis¬
tered the Government of the Gold Coast during the successful expedition against the Crobboes, 50 miles in the Interior
in Sept. Oct. and Nov. 1858 (Brevet of Lt.Colonel). Commanded the expedition against the Dounquah rebels in June and'
July 1859, which resulted in the capture of all the rebel chiefs.
5 Major M'Court served as Brigade Major with the expedition against the King of Keenung river Gambia in the
actions of 6th, 7th, and 8th May 1849. Was present with the combined British and French Naval and Land Force at the
attack and defeat of pirates in Basis Island, Jeba River, Dec. 1849. Commanded the British and Native Force during the
Ashantee invasion of the Assin country. Gold Coast, in March and April 1852.
6 Miyor Buller served with the 57th Regt. in the Eastern campaign of 1854, and was very severely wounded in ths
trenches before Sebastopol, and again whilst being carried back to the camp (Medal and Clasp, and Turkish Medal)
7 Major Wyatt served in the Indian campaign of 1857-58, including the relief of Lucknow by Lord Clyde, occupation of
theAlunibaghunderOutram with the several engagements there, fall of Lucknow, relief of Azimgliur, capture of Jugdisnore-
commanded the Military Train acting as Cavalry throughout tlic Sliahabad campaign (twice mentioned in despatches. Brevet ot
Major, Medal with two Clasps, CB., and a year's service for Lucknow).
Q Major Brown served in the Burmese war of 1852-53 including the capture of Pegu and its subsequent defence
(wounded) and was brought to the notice of the Governor General for able conduct when in command of a picket
during the siege; also present at the attack on Gongoo and in other minor affairs, and commanded the detachment
which engaged the enemy on 31st Jan. 1854 (Medal for Pegu). Persian campaign in 1857, and commanded Sappers at
the bombardment andcaotureof Mohumrah and subsequent pursuit (Medal). Served in the Indian Mutiny campaio-n
