Eastern campaign of 1854 55, including
the buttlesof Alma, Balaklava, and In-
kerman, and siege of Sebastopol (Medal
and four Clasps, and Turkish Medal),
and has received the VictonaCross'* for
defending the guns of Jiis battery
against overwhelming numbers of tlie
enemy at tlie battle of Inkeruian.and
continuing to do so until he had received
twelve bayonet wounds.'*
6 Captain Sweeny served in the Eoyal
ArtiUery throughout the China Expedi¬
tion of 1810-43 (Medal), including the
capture of Chusan, attack on Chueupee,
destruction of the Bocca Tigris Forts,
storm and capture of the heights above
Canton, of Anioy, Cliusan, Chinliae,
Ningpo,—and repulse of the night attack,
attack and capture of the enemy's en¬
trenched camp on the heights of Segoan,
of Chapoo, Woosnu":, Shanghae, and
Chinkiangfoo, and the landing before
Nankin; served in the Crimea from
April 1855 at the siege and fall of Sebas-
topol (Medal and Clasp, and Turkisli
Medal). He has also the Medal for
Meritorious Service.
13 Lieut. Sprent served in the Crimean
Campaign in 1854-55, including the siege
and fall of Sebastopol (Medal witli
Clasp, and Tui-kish Medal). Served
with the Expeditionary Eorce in China
in 1857-59 (Medal).
