1 Major General Parlby commanded tlie detachment 4th Light Dragoons during the Rebecca riots in Wales in 184?,
and received the approval of the Civil and Military authorities. He brought the 10th Hussars from India through Egypt
to the Crimea in 1S.').5, and commanded the Cavalry Division from 17th April to 30th June, and the Hussar Brigade from
1st July till Sept. 185.'), and was present at the reconnaissance under Omar Pasha on 19th April, as also at the battle of the
Tchernaya (Medal with Clasp for Sebasiopol, Sardinian and Turkish Medals, and 4th Class of the Medjidie).
2 Lt.Colonel Macleod served the Gwalior campaign including the action of Maharajporc, 29 Dec. 43 (Bronze Star)
Sutlej campaign of 1845-46, inclnding the battles of Moodkce, Ferozeshah, and Sobraon (Medal and t^vo Clasps).
4 Major Hardy served at the siege of Mociltan in 1848-49 (Medal with Cbsp). Also servedin the Indian Mutiny cam¬
paign in 1857-.'i8, including the actions of Nusserabad (wounded) and Awah (charger killed), and siege of Kotah as

9 Captain Smith served in the Indian Mutiny cainjjaign in 1857-59, and was present at the attack of the rebt-ls on our
guns at Jullundur, and subsequently served with showers' Column in Rajpootana and Central India in pursuit of Tantia
Topee, Ferozeshali, and other rebels, including the operations in the Seronge Junglus and the affair at Patun (Medal).
10 Captain Plovvdeu served in the Indian Mutiny campaign in 1857-58 with the Punjaub Irregular Cavalry, including
the siege and capture of Delhi, battle of Agra (wounded in the face), relief of Lucknow by Lord Clyde, battle of
Cawnpore Clh Dec. 18.'i7, siege and capture of Lucknow, and many minor affairs ; Oude campaign of 1858 (mentioned in
despatches, Medal witii three Clasps).
11 Captain Biddle served with tlie 60th Rifles in tlie Indian Campaign in 1857, .ind was present at the actions on the
Hindun, battle of Budlee kc Serai and forciiig the heights before Delhi, throughout the siege operations including the action
of the 19th June, attuck on the Suljjee Mundee, finiil attack and assault of Delhi. Served «illi the &th Hussars in 1858-59
and was present at the battle of Sindwaho, and actions of Koorwyc and Nabargliur (Medal and two Clasps).
12 Captain Farquharsou served in the Indian Mutiny campaign In 1858, including the capture of Bareilly (Medal).
13 Lieut. Prinsep served in the Indian Mutiny campaign in 1858, including the actions at Amorah, Doumouragunge,
and Philga (Medal).
