156 Major M'Mahon served in the Punjaub campaign of 1848-'J : at tlie first siege of Moolfan;
including the attack on the enemy's position in front of the advanced trenches, 12th Sept. 1848,
with the charging squadrons of the 14th Lt. Dragoons at Ramnuggur (very severely wounded),
and at the battles of Chillianwallah and Goojerat; was also present at the surrender of tlie Seikh
army at Rawul Pindee, and pursuit of ttie Affghans to Peshawur (Medal and Clasps). Served
with the Central India field force under Sir Hugh Rose in 1858 and was present at the siege and
capture of Rahutghur, relief of Saugor, action of Barodia, at Maltlione, siege and capture of
Jhansi, battles of Betwa and Koonch (severely wounded), action of Morar, recapture of Gwalior,
and commanded a flying column in operations against Bunjor Sing (twice mentioned in de¬
spatches, Brevet of Major, Medal and Clasp).
157 Major MacAndrew served with the 40th Kegt. throughout tlic operations in Candahar in
Aifghardstan in 1841 and 42, and has received tlie Medal inscribed " Candaliar, Ghuznee, Cabool,
1842." Served with the 78tli Highlanders in the Persian war in 1857, including the niglit attack
and battle of Kooshab, bombardment of Mohumrah, and expedition to Aliwaz (Medal and Clasp),
160 Major Magenis served with the 90th Light Infantry at the siege and fall of Sebastopol;
commanded a party of the Regt. at the taking of the Rifle Pits on the 19th April 1855, and was
of the stiirming party at the assault of the Redan on the 8th Sept. (mentioned in Dispatches,
Medal and Clasp, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal). Also during the Indian cam¬
paign of 1857-58, —present with Havelock's Column at tlie actions of the 21st and 23rd Sept.,
relief and subsequent defence of Lucknow, defence of the ."Vlumbagh under Outram, and fall of
Lucknow (Brevet of Major, Medal and Clasp).
162 Major Manley served with tlie 6th Dragoons the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including
the battles of Balaklava, Inkerman, and Tchernaya, siege and fall of Sebastjpol (Medal and
Clasps, Brevet of Major, and Turkish Medal).
164 Major A. L. Marsh served the Eastern campaign of 1854-5, with the 55th Regt., including
the battles of Alma and Inkerman (succeeded to the command of the Regt. and siege of Sebas¬
topol (Medal and Clasps, and Turkish Medal).
165 Major Robert Marsh served with the 24th Regt. in the Peninsula from Aug. 1812 to the
end of that war in 1814, and was present at the battles of Vittoria, the Pyrenees, Nivelle
(wounded), and Orthes, for which he has the War Medal with four Clasps. Served also the
Nepanl campaign of 1815-16, and the Mahratta campaign of 1817-18.
1G7 Major Matson joined the force in New Zealand under Colonel Despard in August 1845, and
served as Acting Deputy Quartermaster General, and was present at the assault and capture of
Kawiti's Pah, at Ruapek^peka on the 11th Jan. 1846 (Brevet of Major).
169 Major Mereer served in the 89th Regiment at the siege of Sebastopol, from the 15th
December 1854 to the 7th July 1855, includmg the attack of the 18th June. Was severely
contused in the head on the night of the 13th April when in command of a working party, iu
the trenches (Medal and Clasp, Brevet of Major, and Turkish Medal).
170 Major Meredith served in the Peninsula from Nov. 1813 to June 1814, and was actively
employed from the Pyrenees to the battle of Toulouse, at which he was present. Served in Canada
in 1814 and 15; present at capture of Rangoon, May 1824. He has received the War Medal with
one Clasp for Toulouse.
171 Major Miller served with the 12th Regt. during the New Zealand war of 1860-61 and
was wounded (Brevet of Major).
172 Major Minter served in the Kandian campaigns of 1817 and 18 under Sir Robert Brown-
rigg, and in the Burman Empire under Sir Archibald Campbell.
173 Major Mundy was nominated to the 4th Class of the Medjidie for service with the Osmanli
Horse Artillery as Lieutenant Colonel second in command.
174 Major Charles Murray served in the Kandian War in Ceylon in 1817-18.
175 Major D. M. Murray served with tlie rank of Captain on the Staff" of the Turkish Con¬
tingent during the Eastern campaign of 1855-56 (Turkish Medal). Served as Aide de Camp to
Sir Wm. Mansfield during the Indian campaign of 1857-58, and was present at the relief of
Lucknow by Lord Clyde (horse shot), defence of Cawnpore, and defeat of the Gwalior Con¬
tingent on 6lh Dec. ; action of the Kala Nuddee, and recapture of the Doab, siege and capture
of Lucknow; was repeatedly mentioned in despatches, and twice thanked by the Governor
General in Council (Brevet of Major, Medal and two Clasps).
176 Major William Murray served with the lOth Hussars in the Crimea, from the 30th June
1855, including the battle of the Tcliernaya, siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal and Clasp and
Brevet of Major).
178 Major Nash served in the American war with the I03rd Regt., and was present at the action
of Lundy's Lane, storming of Fort Erie, 15th Aug. 1814,—severely wounded in the leg by a
musket ball, and alterwaids blown up by the explosion of a powder-magazine; present also in
the action at Chippewa.
180 Major Nisbet served with the 1st Dragoon Guards in the Crimean campaign from 16th
Aug. 1855 (Medal with Clasp tor Sehastopol, and Turkish Medal).
182 Major O'Conor served with the 17tli Regt. in the Crimean campaign from 17th Dec.
1854, including the siege and full of Sebastopol, and assualt of the Redan on the IStli June—
mentioned in dispatches (Brevet of Major, Medal with Clasp, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and
Turkish Medal).
184 Major Ogle served the campaign in AflTsihanistan under General Pollock, and was wounded
in forcing the Khyber Pass, 5th April 184J. He has the Medal for the ic-capture of Cabool.
185 Major Orr served with the 7th Fusilu rs at the siege and capture of Copenhagen in 1807 ;
at the siege of Martinique in 1809 ; and in the Peninsula from 1810, including the battle of
Albuhera (severely wounded by a musket-ball in the leg), passage of the Eslar and the Ebro,
