(wounded 17th March 1842), and in the sorties on the 14th Nov. and 1st Dec. 1841, 11th March,
24th March, and 1st April 1842; the battle of Jellalabad and defeat of the besieging force under
Akbar Khan on the 7ch April 1842—horse sabred under him (Medal). Was on the storming
party of the JugduUuck Pass, in the battle of Tezeen, and at the re-capture of Cabool (Medal).
Served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, as Assist. Adjutant-General to the 3rd Division and
subsequently to Head Quarters, including the battle of Alma, capture of Bilaklava, battle of
Inkerman, and siege operations before Sebastopol, with the exception of the last attack (Medal
& three Clasps, Ci(.,Knight of the Legion of Honor, 4th Class of the Medjidie,& Turkish Medal).
103 Sir Henry Wyatt served the campaigns of 1814 and 15, with the 1st Life Guards, and was
present at the battle of Toulouse, and capture of Paris. He has the War Medal with one
Clasp.
104 Colonel YarBorough served with the 9l8t Regt. in the Kaffir war (Medal and CB.).
War Services of Retired Lieutenant Colonels.
I Lieut Colonel Anderson's services;—Expedition to Calabria, including the battle of
Maida and subsequent operations, and capture of the fortressof Catrone; expedition to Egypt
in 1807; Peninsula from April 1809 to Jan. 1812, including the battles of Talavera (wounded)
and Buiaco, retreat to the lines of Torres Vedras, and various affairs there; with the advance
at Espinhal, battle of Fuentes d'Onor, and many other affairs and skirmishes. Served at
the capture of Guadaloupe in 1815. Commanded a Brigade at the bittle of Punniar (Medal),
and was severely wounded at its head when in the act of charging the enemy's guns. He has
received the War Medal with four Clasps for Maida, Talavera, Busaco, and Fuontes d'Onor.
3 Lt.Colonel Andios served with lhe 65th Regt. during the campaigns of 1814 and 1815 in
Guzerat and Kutch, and was prtsent at the capture of tlie Forts of Joosin, Anjar Khuncoote,
Dbingee, and Dwarka. Served also throughout tlie JIahratta campaigns of 1816, 17, and 18,
including the battle before and subsequent capture of Poonah, and the affair of Ashtee. Has
received the Medal for Poonah.
4 Lieut.Colonel Armstrong served at the capture of Genoa in 1814, and subsequently in the
American war, including the capture of Washington, attack before Baliiiiiore 13th Sept. 1814 ;
and on New Orleans, 8lh Jan. 1815, wliere he was wounded and taken prisoner. Present when
Graham's Town was attacked by about ten thousand Kaffirs, 22nd April 1819, and who were
repulsed witli great slaughter by three hundred men under the command of Colonel Wiltshire.
Commaniled in the Kat lliver Settlement during the Kaffir war of 1834-5, and v\as thanked iri
General Orders for his defence of that locality against an attack of Kaffirs on the 19th Feb. 1835.
Served also throughout the whole of the Kaffir war of 1846-7, and was present at the attack on
the Amatola, 16th April 1846, and two subsequent days' engagement.
5 Lt.Colonel Astley served with the Scots Fusilier Guards in the Eastern campaign of 1854
until severely wounded at the battle of Alma. Served at the siege and fall of Sebastopol, from
2 May 1855 (Medal & two Clasps,Brevet of Major, 5th Class of the Medjidie, & Turkish Medal).
6 Lt.Colonel Atchcrley served in the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battle of
Alma, siege of Sebastopol, repulse of the sortie on 26th Oct. 1854 (severely wounded in the arm,
and mentioned in dispatches), and assault on the Redan on the 8th Sept. 1855—mentioned in
dispatches (Jledal and Clasps, Brevet Major, Knight of the Legion of Honor, oth Cla.ss of the
Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
7 Lt.Colonel Attye served in the Kaffir war of 1851-53 (Medal).
8 Lt.Colonel Aylmer served with the 89th Regt. at the siege and fall of Schastopnl from
15tli Dec. 1855, including the attacks on the Ibth June and 8th Sept. (Medal and Clasp,
Brevet Lt.Colonel, Knight of the Legion of Honor, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
10 Lieut.Colonel Baddeley served with the 49lh Regt. in China (Medal), and was present at
AiTioy, Chusan (2nd capture), Ningpo, Segoan, Chapoo, Woosung, and Chin Kiang Foo, at
whicli last he was twice wounded-—once dangerously by a ball which fractured the thigh-bone.
II Lt.Colonel Bazalgette landed in India with tlie 37th Regt. in June 1857, and served there
until the suppression of the Mutiny, being engaged with the enemy on several occasions
(Medal).
12 Lt.Colonel Beaumont served the Eastern campaign of 1854 with the 21ft Fusiliers,
including the battles of Alma, Baluklava, and Inkerman, and siege of Sebastopol (Medal with
four Clasps, and Turkish Medal).
13 Lieut.Colonel Beckham served the Peninsular campaigns of 1812, 13, and 14.
14 Lt.Colonel Bertram served with the 41st Regt. in the Crimean Campaign from the 6th
Feb. to the 7th Sept. 1855, including the siege of Sebastopol (Brevet of Major, Medal with
Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
15 Lt.Colonel Bethune served the campaign in Affghanistan in 1642 (Medal),—as Adjutant
of the 9th Regt. at the forcing of the Khyber Pass, and as Aide de Cam)i to Sir John M'Caskill
at the action of Mamookail, forcing the Tezeen Pass, re-capture of Cabool, storm, capture,
and destruction of Istaliff. He served also the campaign on the Sutlej in 1845-6 (Medal) as
Aide de Camp to Sir John M'Caskill at the battle of Moodkee, where the Major General was
killed,—as Aide de Camp to Brigadier Wallace (who was killed) at Ftrozeshah (charger shot),
—and in command of the Light Company of the Oth at Sobraon. Served at the siege of Sebas¬
topol from Nov. 1854 to Feb. 1855 (Medal & Clasp,5th Class of the Midj die, & Turkish Medal).
16 Lt.Colonel Bickerstaff served in the Indian Mutiny campaign; commanded tlie Head
Quarters of the Carabhieers in the action of Kukrowlie, and at the taking of Bareilly; com¬
manded a wing of the Regiment at the attack and bombardment of Shahjehanpore ; commanded
the right cavalry attack in several subsequent affairs against the Moulvie. Commanded tlie
Carabineers witli Lord Clyde's force in the Oudc campaign, including the action at Doou
