and Turkish Medal). Served also in the Indian Mutiny campaign of 1857-58, including the relief of Lucknow by Lord Clyde,
and final siege and capture of Lucknow (Medal with Clasp).
6 Major GiUmau served with the 12th Regt. during the Kaffir war of 1851.53 (Medal).
7 Major Bolton served the campaign on the Sutlej (Medal and three Clasps). He acted as Aide-de-Camp to Sir Harry
Smith at Moodkee and Ferozeshah, and was Adjutant of the 8Ut at Buddiwal, Aliwal, and Sobraon (severely woiindedV
Kdinburgh.—2 Captain Boulton served at the siege of Sebastopol from March to July 1855 (Medal and Clasp, and
Turkish Medal).
Essex.—' Major Jodrell served in the 18th Royal Irish through the whole of the operations in China (Medal), and was
wounded at Chapoo.
2 Captain Edcnborough served as a volunteer in New Zealand during the operations in 1845, and was present in several of
the skirmishes ; he also volunteered his services in the Mounted Police in New South Wales on several occasions, and was
once slightly wounded.
3 Captain Lcnnard served with the 28th Regt in the Crimea from 27th Feb. to 5th July 1855, including the siege of Sebas-
topol and attair in the cemetery—severely wounded (Medal and Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
rermanagll.—1 Captain Elliott served with the 41st Regt. throughout the Eastern Campaign of IS.'il-SS,
including the battles of Alma and Inkerman, siege and fall of Sebastopol, repulse of the sortie on 36th October, attacks of
the Redan on the 18th June and 8th Sept. (Medal with three Clasps, Turkish Medal, and Medal for Meritorious Service).
Fife,—1 Captain Maconochie-Welwood served under General Pollock in the campaign of IS42. Served in the Punjaub
campaign of 1848-49, and was present during the whole siege operations leading to the storm of the town and surrender of the
Fort of Mooltan ; commanded a squadron of the 2nd Bengal Light Cavalry at the battle of Surujcoond, when on the 7th Nov.
the Cavalry Brigade chargfd and took an entrenched battoiy, capturing the guns; afterwards proceeded in command of the
detachment, including the siege guns, which were ordered to the fort of Cheniote ; was thanked in Division Orders for the
expeditious way the party was brought up by forced marches, and was present at the surrender of the fort to Gensrul Wliish
(Medal and Clasp).
Plint.—2 Captain Mathias served with the 2nd Hegt. in the Kaffir war of 1851-62 (Medal), and with the expedition
north of the Orange River in l\5"2-55.
Porfar. —1 Captain Pasley served with the field force under Brigadier W. Coghlan against the Arabs near Aden in
1858 and at the storm and capture of Fort Shaik Othman.
Glamorgan.—1 Lieut.Colonel Morgan served in the Peninsula from Oct. 1813, to the end of that war, in the Racket
Troop Royal Horse Artillery, and was at the passage of the Adour, investment of Bayonne, and battle of Toulouse (Medal);
after which he embarked at Bordeaux with the array for North America, serving on the Niagara frontier until the peace.
3 Captain Palmer served with the 62nd Regt. at the siege of Sebastopol from .Srd. Sept. 1855, and was taken prisoner at the
attack of the Redan on the 8th Sept. (Medal with Clasp, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and 'I'urkish Medal).
G-Ioicester.-1 Captain Jones served as Assist.Quarterma.ster General of the Assam Field Force during the whole of
the first Burmese war, and has received a Medal and two Clasps for Ava and Assam. He is a F.R.A.S.
Haddington, &Ci—Major Dowell was in action with the Russian batterienon Hangoe-head, 22nd May 1854, Served
with the Baltic expedition in 1855, aud was engaged vtiih the enemy on the 18th June; present at the destruction of a fort
and barracks, and the shelling an encampment on Ihe Sard June; destruciion of thirty vessels in the Bay of Werolaj on
30t)i June; landing at Lovisa, and burning the Government houses, &c., on dtli July; Ehellin? a Cossack encampment on
10th July ; desirnction of a Cossack barrack, &c., 12th July; action with a steamer, gunboats, and a hatlery near
Wiborg on 13th July ; and was mentioned in the Dispatches for his gallantry in assisting to savp the crew of a ooat under
fire, for which he has received the Victoria Cross; engaged with the bat:eries at Frcdreiksham on aist July ; occupation
of the Island of Kotka, and destruction of the stores. Ice, on 2Bth July, and bombardment of Siveaboip: (MedalJ.
Hants,—! Major General Bumaby served the campaign of 1815, and was present at the battle of Waterloo.
8 Lieut.Colonel Stretton served the campaigns of 1812-18 in the Peninsula, with the 68th Light Infantry, and was severely
wounded at the battle of Vittoria by two gun-shots lodged in the body, one of which has not been extracted. He has received
the Silver War Medal with one Clasp for Vittoria.
4 Captain Breton served with the 28th Begt. in the Crimea from 13th Jan. 1855, including the siege and fall of Sebastopol
(Medal and Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
Kuntlngdon,—1 Captain Rooper served with the S8th Regt. in the Crimea from 23rd Aug. 1855 (Medal and Clasp for
Sebastopol, and Turkish Medal).
Kent.—1 Lt.Colonel Deedes served with the Rifle Brigade the Eastern Campaign of 18S4, including the battles of Alma
and Inkerman, and siege of Sebastopol (Medal with three Clasps, and Turkish Medal).
2 Captain Knight served with the 23rd Fusiliers in the Indian Mutiny Campaign in 1857-58, including Ihe relief of
Lucknow by Lord Clyde, battle of Cawnpore 6th Die. 1857, siege and capture bf Lucbnow, and Transsjogru operations

Serry.—2 Major O'Connell served with the 78rd in Canada during the Rebellion in 1838-89; at the siege of Monte
Video from Sept. 1845 to Aug. 1846 ; and in the Kaffir war of 1846-47 (Medal).
4 Doctor Maybury served with the late British Auxiliary Legion in Spain from July 18.15 to Sept., 1937, first as Assist.
Surgeon, and afterwards as Surgeon, of the 10th Munster Light Infantry ; received two Medals, one for the ,0th May la38, nd
the other for the storming of Iron in June, 1837; was mentioned in General Orders for gallant conduct in dressing the
wounded under the hottest fire in the actions of the 15th and 16th March IB37.
Xlldare,—2 Captain Moore served with the 95th Hcgt. in the Indian campaign in 1858, including the siege and capture
of Kotah, battle of Kota ka Serai; general action resulting in the capture of Gwalior, siege and capture of Pourie (Medal
and Clasp). '
Xllkenny.—1 Captain de Montmorency served the Oude Campaign of 1858-59 with the Znd Dragoon Guards, in¬
cluding the aft.iir of Onoree, and Trans Gogra aff»ir« at Bungann (Medal).
King's County.—1 Major Brace served in the 18th Royal Irish throughout the war in China of 1811, and w-as present
at the storming and capture of Anioy, Woosung, Chappoo, Chin-Kiang-Foo, and operations before Nankin; likewise at the
cai>ture of the Bogue Forts, Boca Tigris, and barrier forts on the Canton river in 1847 (Medal). Served throughout the war
111 Burmah, and was present at the storm and capture of Martaban (as Major of Brigade), storming and capture of Rangoon
â– wounded). Served as Assistant Adjutant General of Division to the termination of the war, and present at the capture of
Prome, and repulse of the enemy from that position ; capture of the enemy's forts In the neighbourhood of Prome ; occupation
of Meeaday, storm and capture of the enemy's stockades in the vicinity of Donabew. Promoted to rank of Major for service
in Burmah.
Xiancasblre,—l Major Wardlaw served ten years in the Bengal Army, and was present at the battles of Moodkee,
Ferozeshah, and Aliwat, and affair of Bnddiwal (Medal and two Clasps).
2 Captain Fenton served with the 63rd Regt. in the Sutlej campaign in 1845-6, and was present at the affair of Buddiwal,
and in the battles of Aliwal and Sobraon (Medal and one Clasp).
3 Captain Molesworth served with the 19th Regt. in the Crimea from May 1855, and was engaged in the attack on the
Quanies 7th June, and in the attacks of the Sedan on the Ifeth June and bth Sept.—Severely wounded (Medal and Clasp,
and Turkish Medal).
4 Captain Whittle served at the Cape of Good Hope with the Qlst Regt. and was present nndet Sir Harry Smith at the
attack and defeat of the emigrant Boers on the 29th August 1848.
5 Major Phibbs served iive years in India with the 48th Reg't., including the campaign against the Rajah of Coorg in
April 1834.
6 Major Dickson served with the loth Regt. In Spain, from early in 1813 until the end of the war; was present at the
attack of the pass Col de Balaguer, second siege of Tarragona, attack of the pass of Ordal, under Lord Wm. Bentinck, and the
blockade of Barcelona. Proceeded to India in 1818. and served in the 41st throughout the Burmese war of 1624-'.'(i (Medal),
and was present in most of the actions in which the regt. was engaged. Was at t(ie siege of CoUapore in 1817. Also in
Scinde and Aflghanistan from Nov. 1640 to Feb. 1843 (Medal), and was with the force under General Nott during its march
from Candahar, Ghuznee, Cabul, Jellalabad, and Khyber Pass, to Ferozepore, in 1842-43.
7 Lt.Col. Mathias served in the Sut'.ej campaign of lS4S-i6 (Medal and one Clasp) ; commanded a strong detachment of
H. M. Troops at the affair of Buddiwal; was in command at the battle of Aliwal, where he had cliaige of the howitzers
(named in the Dispatches, and made Brevet Major); and commanded the Grenadier Company C.nd Kcgt. at the battle of
Sobriion (wounded).
(i Captain Adair served with the Ooldstream Guards in the Crimea from 2d May 1855, including the siege and fall of
Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
Leicester.—1 Captam Fearson served with the 95th Regt. in the Indian Campaign in 1858, including the siege assault
and capture of Kota, battle of Kota ka Serai, general action resulting in the Capture of Gwalior, siege aud'capture of Powrie

2 Captain Grimston served with the 93rd Highlanders in the Crimea from Jan. 1865, including the siege of Sehastopol,
