J, May t)0 2 Lt.Colonel Yonge served with the
Queen's Royals throughout Lord Keane's
campaign in Affghanistan and Beloochistan,
and was severely wounded at the storm¬
ing of Ghuznee (Medal). He served also
the campaign in the .Southern Mahratta
country in 1844 lincluding the storm of the
fortress of Punella) and that of the Concan in
1845.
5 CaptAin Strachan cotnmandett a detachment of
tlie 1st W, I. Regt. at Danish Accra, Gold Coast,
duvinp the Rebellion of 1854. He also commanded
a division at the destruction of the large Mandingo
town of Maleaghea, near Sierra Leone, 22nd May
1S55, where, out of a force of 150 men, upwards of
70 men and 4 officers were killed or wounded,
9 Cai)tain W.'l'hompson served in the Eastern campaign from
May 1855, including the expedition toKertch (Medal and Clasp
and Tuikish Medul). Served as Adjutant of the Military Tiain,
acting as Cavalry, in the Indian campaign of 1857-58, including
the relief of Lnckiiow by Lord Clyde, occupation of the Alum-

P 1 Mav (Jfl' L'lcknow, relief of Azimghur, capture ot Jugdispore ; served
^- ^ with the cavalry pursuing force in Oct. 185S, engaged several

of Xoaiulee (mentioned in despatches. Medal and two Clasps).
11 Lieut. Arrowsmith served with the 31st Regt. at the siege
of Sebastopol from 2i2d May to IBtli Aug. 1855 (Medal and Clasp,
and Turkish Medal).

8 Capiain Lowry (late a Captain in the 41st Kegt.) served with the 41st Ilegt. throughout the Crimean Campaign,
including the battles of Alma and Inkerman, siege and fall of Sebastopol, repulse of the sortie on 2fith October, anil
assault of the Redan on 8th September (Medal with three Clasps, Turkish Medal, and 5th Class of the Medjidie).
9 Lieut. Gardiner served the campaign of 1344-45 in the Southern Mahratta country, :ncludin;; tlie capture of the forts of Panulia,
Povvuiiluir, Monahur.and Munsunl8ooh.
in Ensign Lynch served in the 41st Regt. throughout the Eastern Campaign of 1854-.55 including the battles of Alma and
Inkerman {severely wounded in several places), sortie of Sfith October, attacks of the Redan on 18th .Tune and 8th Sept.,
siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with three Clasps, and Turkish Medal). Accompanied the Expedition up the Gambia
against the King of Baddiboo in 1861; was on board H.M.S. " Torch" at the bombardment of the Enemy's works on the
banks of the Swarracunda Creek on 16th Feb.; present at the landing storming and capture of the Enemy's entrenched
works, storming capture and destruction of the foitified towns of Carawan, Kinty Cunda, and Saba, battle of Saba, storm
captureand total destruction of the Enemy's stockades on 21st Feb. 18()1. Also served against the King of Quiah and was
present at the capture and destruction of Massongha, of the stockades and war fences at Madoukia, and of the Fetish town
of Robeah, also of the towns of Maftmba and Majohn on 28ili Dec. 1861.
