4 Major Drew served with the 75th Regt. throughout the
campaign before Delhi in 1857, including the battle of Badulee
ke Serai; commanded the Grenadier Company at the assault
of Delhi and ultimately the Kegt.; accompanied Colonel Oreat-
lied's pursuing column and was present at the affairs of Ally-
ghur and Akbarabad, and battles of Bolundsbuhur and Agra;
served in the advance into Oude under Sir Colin Campbell,and
on the relief of the Garrison of Lucknow remained with General
Outram's force at Alunibagh, and took part in the several
repulses of the enemy (Medal and Clasps,and Brevet of Major).
11 Lietit. Macqueen served with tlie 'tSrd Light Infantry in the
New Zealand war in 1864-G5, including Expeditions in the pro¬
vince of Taranaki, destroying many Fahs and fortified villages.

2 Colonel Gordon served in the campaigns against the Kaffir Tribes of South Africa in 1834-35 (Medal). Also as Assistant
Engineer during 1637 and 1838, on the eastern frontier of the Cape Colony; and employed under Colonel Lewis, commanding
Boyal Engineers, to execute a confidential survey (trigonometrical and statistical) on that frontier. Served in the Indian cam¬
paign of 1857-58, commanding the 75th E,egt. during the capture of Delhi from the 15th Sept., and was wounded on the 18th
leading the assault on the Ilubshee-ka-Phatcek; planned and carried out the forw.ird movement of the right attack within the
city, surprising and captuiing the Burra Bastion at its gorge on the evening of tiie 19th, retaining it under a constant fire until
the next morning when the enemy evacuated Delhi. Froceeded with Creathed's Column and commanded the llegt. iu the
actions of BoUindshuhur, Allygliur, Akraliad, Agra, and Kanoj, advance into (Jude and minor affairs ending in tlic relief of Luck-
now; subsequently with the Undo field force in front of the city until 14th Feb.—specially mentioned in Ontrani's despatch for
"judgment :<nd coolness" iu defending the left advanced outpost ol the Camp during a night attack made by a very large force
of the enemy on the 16tli Jan., which he repulsed with severe loss (Medal and Clasps, and Brevet Lt,Colonel).
3 Major Uiinbar has the Medal for the Punjaub campaign. Served with the flank companies 98th Eegt. in the force
under Sir Colin Campbell at the forcing of the Kohat Pass in Feb. 1850. Served during the Indian campuign of 1857
from the outbreak on 12lh May, including the battle of Budleekaserni, siege, storm, and capture of Delhi—wounded in
the hand in the trenches on 12tb Sept. (Medal and Clasp, and Brevet of Major).
5 Captain Malan served in the 7th Fusiliers at the siege and fall of Sebastopol from 12th June 1855, and was severely
â– wounded infour places at the first assault of the Redan (Medal and Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
6 Captain Barker served with the 5th Fusiliers at the relief and capture of Lucknow, defence of the Alunibagh, battle
of Maregunge, and repulse of 12th and 16th January, 1858 (Medal and Clasp).
