Commanded the troops on board the Spartan steamer when wrecked on the Dog Rocks, Coast of Africa, on 5th July 1850,
on returning from the Crimea, and for his services throughout this trying occasion, he received the Brevet rank of Major,—
Lord Panmure ihe War Minister expressing his approbation as well as that of H.R.H. The Commander in Chief of the
conduct of th'i officers and men, as being highly honorable to them; and Colonel M'Murdo, Director General of the
Land Transport Corps, in a General Order *• desired to express to Captain Collingwood and those he commanded the pride
he felt in transmitting for Ihe information of H.R.H. (he Commander in Chief, the proofs given of the hinh courage and
discipline which animated all rjnka on that feaiful night, and which were rewarded by the safe rescue of all from their
perilous situation."
9 Major Hawker served in the Crimea from May 1855 including the siege and fall of Sebastopol (wounded in the
trenches)and attack on the Redan on the 18th June ; also the expedition to Kinbourn (Medal with Clasp, 5th Class of
the Medjidie, and Turkish Jledal).
10 Captain Holt served in the Crimea from 24 July 1855 including the siege and fall of Sebastopol, and expedition to
Kmbourn (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
11 Captam Terapleman served throughout ihe Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battles of Alma, Balaklava,
and Inkei.oan (wounded in the hand), siege and fall of Sebastopol, and attack on the Redan on the 18th June; also the ex¬
pedition to Kinbourn (Medal and four Clasps, Knight of the Legion of Honor, and Turkish Medal).
14 Captain Image served the Eastern campaign of 1854 and up to lOth July 1855, including the battles of Alma and
Inkerman, siege of Sebastopol, and attack on the Redan on the 18th June (severely wounded), where he commanded the
party carrying Ihe wool-bags to fill the ditch, mentioned in dispatches (Medal with three Clasps, Knight of the Legiou of
Honor, and Turkish Medal).
15 Captain Clarke served in the Eastern campaign of 18.54-65, including the battle of Alma, siege and fall of Sebas-
toi)ol, attack on the Redan on the 16tli June, where he commanded the scaling-ladder party, and was mentioned in
Di>patches; served as Adjutant at the fall of Sebastopol and expedition to Kinbourn (Medal with two Clasps,Sardinian
and Tuikish Medals).
19 Captain Winsioe served the latter part of 1855 at the siege and fall of Sebastopol, and expedition to Kinbourn
(Medal and Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
iO Captain Hazlerigg served during the latter part of 1855 at the siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal and Clasp, and
Turkish Medal).
22 Captain Saunders served with the 6th Regt. in the Indian Mutiny campaign, including the operations in the Jugdec-
pore Jungle (Medal).
24 Captain Furlong served in the Eastern campaign of 1854-55 at the siege of Sebastopol (Medal and Clasp).
•.^5 Quarter Master Grahame served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battles of Alma and Ink«rman,
siege and fall of Sebastopol, and expedition to Kinbourn (Medal with three Clasps, and Turkish Medal).

'20 Captain Fahic served in the Indian campaign of 1857-.58, including the actions of Chanda, Umeerpore, and Sultan-
pore, siege and capture of Lucknow, subsequent operations in Oude, and affairs of Churda and fort of Musjeedia (Medal
and Clasp).
23 Major Burne served in the Indian campaign of 18.17-18 on the stuff of Brigadier Evelegh, and was present at the
actions of Chanda, Umeerpoie, and Sultanpoie, siege and capture of Lucknow, and subsequent operations in Oude (as
Brigade Major) including actions of Mohan, Hussengnnge, Meangunge, Morar Mow, and fort of Simree ; was also presen
as Adjutant of the 20th Regt. at the actions of Forts of Churda and Musjeedia; also at actions of Muchleegam and Kahel
Jungle, and final operations in Oude during 18.^y as staff officer to a column under Brigadier Holdich (several times
mentioned in despatches, and afterwards received an Unattached Company and Brevet of Major for services in the field
(Medal with Clasp). Subsequently served as Military Secretary to Sir Hugh Rose, when Commander in Chief in India.
24 Captain Harcourtwas at the battle of the Alma (Medal with Clasps, and Turkish Medal). Served throughout the
campaign in the Korth of China, including the action of Sinho, and storming of Tangku (Medal with Clasp for the Taku
Forts). Served as Aide de Camp to Br. General Staveley in the operations against the Taepingsin the vicinity of Shanghai
in 18fi2, including the attack and capture of the entrenched town of Chepao, the stockade at Nasiang, the walled cities of
Kading and Tsingpoo, entrenched town of Najow, and walled town of Cholin (mentioned in despatches).
31 Qr.Master Smith served the Sutlej campaign in 1845, and was severely wounded at the battle of Feroiethah
(Medal); served also the Punjaub campsign of 1848-4ft, including the passage of thf Chenab and battles of Chillianwilllah
Hnd tiooierat (Mfdat and t^vo riasps),
