in the Indian Mutiny campaign, including
the bailie of Budlelcescrai, throughout the
siege and assault of Delhi (horses shot on the
14th Sept. 1857), actions of Uolundshuhur,

lief of Lucknow by Lord Clyde (Medal with two Clasps).
Served throughout the campaign of ISBO in North China,
as Aide de Camp to Sir Hope Grant, including the cap¬

I Sir .Tames Chatterton sen-ed in the IJtli Light Dragoons, now the Royal Lancers, iu Portugal, Spain, Flanders, and
Vrance, from 1811 to 1818, including the affairs of I'ucnte Guiualdo and Aldea de Ponte ; the sieges of Ciudad Rodrigo and
Badajoz; frequently employed upon detached posts of observation and thanked for his exertions ; tlie actions of Usagre,
Llereiia, Passage of the Tormes, near Salamanca (town), and attack of the enemy's rear-guard. Heights of San Christoval,
Eueda, Castrajon, and battle of Salamanca; affairs at Tudela, Valladolid, Celadadel Caiuinlio, to tlie investment and siege of
Burgos, actions at Monaslcrio, Bridge of Bauicl, Uniutana Palla Venta del Pozo, and Cabezou, actions on the retreat from Burgos
to Salamanca, thence to the combat and passage of the Huebra, Torrequemada and outposts to Ciudad Rodrigo, upon the
advance of the army in 1813; the passage of the Ebro and Esla, action at Osma, and battle of Vittoria, actions at Villa Franca,
Tolosa, to the siege and capture of San Sebastian. 'Ihe actions on crossing the Bidassoa, and carrying the enemy's fortified
entrenchments. The battle of the Nivelle, the actions at St. Jean de Luz, at Anglet, the Mayor's House, Bidart, the battles on
the Nive from the 9th to the 13th Dec. 1813 ; the passage of the Adour, and investment of Bayonne; occupation of Bordeaux,
the passage of the Garonne, and affairs at Etaliers or the passage of the Dordogne, besides various skirmisbes and minor affairs.
In 1815. the battles of Quatre Bras and Waterloo, to the advance on and capture of Paris. He has received the Cross of Knight
of the Royal Hanoverian Guelpliic Order, that of San Fernando of Spain, the War Medal and four Clasps for the battle of
Salamanca, Vittoria, Nivelle, and Nive, and the Waterloo Medal. Received the commands of her Majesty to attend and bear
the Great Banner on the occasion of the Funeral of the late illustrious Duke of Wellington, "in consideration of his long,
faithful, and distinguished services."
a Major Dunham Massy served at the latter part of the siege of Sebastopol, was under fire at the battle of the
Tchernaya, and commanded the Grenadiers of the 19th Regt. at the assault on the Redan on the 8th Sept., where, with
minor injuries, he was dangerously wounded by a ball which passed through his left tbigh.sbattering the bone. Being left
on the ground, he fell into the hands of the enemy the ensuing night, who supposing him to be mortally wounded, did
not remove him with their prisoners. Was recommended in a special despatch by the Commander in Chief in the Crimea
for his gallantry at the Redan, his fortitude, and the patient endurance with which he bore his most severe sufiering during
a confinement to his bed of nearly six months (Medal with Clasp, Knight of the Legion of Honor, and Turkish Medai).
7 Captain Chicliester served with the 13th Light Infantry in the Crimea from 80th June 1855, including the battle of
the Tchernaya, siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
8 Lieut. Sedley served with the 1st Dr. Gds. in the campaign of 1860 in China, and was engaged at Sinho, present at
the fall of the Taku Forts, and engaged in the actions of the 18th and 2l8t September, also in the advance on Pekin
(Aledal with two Clasps).

10 Riding Master Kant served with the Scots Greys during the Eastern campaign of 18.54-55, and was present at the
aS'air of Mackenzie's Farm, battles of Balaklava, Inkerman andTchernaya, siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with three
Clasps, Turkish Medal, and Knight of the Legion of Honor).
II QuartetMaster Wooden served throughout the Eastern campaign of 1854-55 with the 17th Lancers, including
i-he affairs of Bulganac and M'Kenzie's Farm, night attack on Russian Outposts on 19th Feb., 1855, battles ot Alma, Bala-
ilava (horse shot), and Inkerman, siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with four Clasps, Victoria Croas, French War Medal,
and Turkish Medal). Served in India during the M utiny of 1857-59, and was present in the operations in Central India
under General Michel, and action of Zerapore on 29th Dec, 1858 (Medal).
