99 ilajor C. M. Foster served with the 3;2nd Hegt. in the Indian Mutiny campaign in 1807..58
and was in action witli the rebel force at Chinhut on the 30th June 1857, and from that date
engaged in the defence of the Residency of Luckiiow until its final relief by Lord Clyde on 24th
Nov.,—was severely wounded during the siege and mentioned in despatches by Sir John Inglis
and the Governor General; was subsequently engaged in the defeat of the Gwalior rebels at
Cawnpore on Gth Dec. 1867 (Medal and Clasp, Brevet of Major, and grant of a year's service
for Lucknow).
100 Major Forsyth served the Eastern campaign of 1854..55, including the battles of Balaklava
and Inkerraan, siege of Sebastopol, capture of the Quarries, attack on the Redan on the 18th
June (with the storming column), and on the 8th Sept.; also at Kinbourn (Medal and Clasps.
Brevet Major, Knight of the Legion of Honor, Sardinian and Turkish Medals).
101 Major Frampton was present with the 50th Regt. in the battle of Punniar (Medal). Served
the campaign on tlie Sutlej (Medal and two Clasps), including the battles of Moodkee, Feroze-
sliah, and Aliwal, m which last he was dangerously wounded, and had his arm amputated.
Served tlie Eastern campaign until taken prisoner in tlie trenches before Sebastopol on the 22nd
Dec. 18o4, having been present at the battles of Alma and Inkermaa (wounded),—Medal and
Clasps, Knight of the Legion of Honor, and Turkish Medal).
102 Major Gavin served with the 16th Lancers during the campaign in Affghanistan under
Lord Keane, including the siege and capture of Ghuznee (Medal). He was also present at tho
battle of Maharajpore, 9th Dec. 1843 (Medal). *
103 Major Gell served in the Peninsula in the 29th, and succeeded to the command of the
Regt. at the battle of Albuhera, for wliich he has received the Gold Medal.
105 Major GiUum served with the 54th Regt. at the taking of the forts of Leeliean and
Tirhol in Oudo, in June 1858 (Medal).
106 Major Godley served with the 28th Regt. the Eastern campaign of 1854 and up to 6th July
18^5, including the battles of Alma and Inkerman, siege of Scbastopol, and affair in the Cemetery
—severely wounded (Medal and three Clasps, Brevet Major, 5th Class of the MiJfljidie, and Turkish
Medal).
107 Major Duncan Gordon served with the 59th Regt. at the capture of the Isle of France in
1810; and at the capture of Java in 1811, and was wounded at the assault of Fort Cornelius
(War Merial with one Clasp). Served also at the siege and capture of Bhurtpore in 1825-26
(War Medal with one Clasp).
108 Major S. B. Gordon served with the 45th Regt. in the Kaffir war of 1840-47 (Medal)
109 Major Gore served with the 7th Drag. Guards against the Insurgent Boers in South Africa
in 184o, also throughout the Kaffir war of 1846-7 (Medal). Served with the 53d Regt. durinn
tlie Indian campaign of 1857-58, including the action of Khujwah, relief of Lucknow by Lord
Clyde, battle of Cawnpore on 6th Dec. and pursuit of the Gwalior Contingent to Serai Ghat, action
ot Khodugunge and entry into Futteghur, affair of Shumshabad, storm and capture of Meaugunge,
siege and capture of Lucknow, and affair of Koorsie (Medal and Clasps).
Ill Major Graham served with the 42nd Highlanders the Eastern campaign from Dec 1854
including the expedition to Kertch, siege and fall of Sebastopol, and assault upon the outworks
18tli June (Medal and Clasp, Brevet of Major, and Turkish Medal).
113 Major E. L, Green served in the Katfir wars of 1847 and 1850-53 (Medal), wa« severely
wounded in the former war when commanding the rear-guard, and in the latter war served as
Aide de Camp to Major General Somerset, and D.A.Qr.Mas.Gen. with the head-quarters of Sir
George Cathcart. Served with tlie China expedition of 1860 until the surrender of Pekia as
D.A.Adj.Gen. 1st Division (Medal and Clasp, and Brevet of Major).
115 Major Grubbe served with the 43rd Lt. Inf. in the Peninsula during the latter part of 1812
and was in action on the 16th Nov. on retreat from Burgos. Was also at New Orleans
no Major Halliday served with the 82nd Regt. at the siege and fall of Sebastopol from 2nd
Sept. 18oo (Medal and Clasp). Served in the N. W. Provinces in suppressin.' the Indian
Mutiny m 18o8 and was present at the actions of Khankur, siege of the Jail and subsequent
operations at Shahjehanpore (Brevet of Major'and Medal).
117 Major Hon. R. Baillie-Hamilton served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, includin"- the
battles of Alma and Inkerman, siege and fall of Sebastopol, and capture of Kinbouru—as°Aide
de Camp to General Spencer (Medal and Clasps, Sardinian and Turkish Medals). Served also
the campaign of 1860 in China as Brigade Major of the 3rd Brigade (Medal with Clasp and
Brevet of Major). '
118 Major Thomas Hare served in the Kaffir war during 1847 (Medal).
119 Major Wm. Henry Hare accompanied the expedition under Sir David Baird to Corunna,
and was present throughout the retreat, and at the battle of Corunna. In Aug. 1809 embarked
with the expedition to Walcheren, and was at the siege and capture of Flushing. Served in the
Peninsular campaigns of 1811,12, 13, and 14; and finally at the battle of Waterloo and capture
of Cambray.

121 Major J.M. Hill served in the Kaffir war of 1846-47 (Medal). Served in the Crimea at

in the Turkish Contingent and commanded the Garrison Artillery at Kertch and Yenikali (4th
Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
