96 Lt.Colonel West landed in the Crimea with the 48th Eegt. on the 2l8t April 1855, and
served at the siege of Sebastopol (Medal and Clasp, Knight of the Legion of Honor, 6th Class
of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
97 Lt.Colonel Hon. W. J. Colville served in the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the
battle of Alina, siege and fall of Sebastopnl (Medal and two Clasps, Brevet Major, Knight of the
Legion of Honor, Sardinian and Turkish Medals, and 5th Class of the Medjidie).
!)8 Lt.Colonel Steward served with the 41st Regt. in the Eastern campaign up to 19th Oct.
1854, including the battle of Alma, and siege of Scbastopol (Medal and two Clasps, 5th Class
of the Modjidie, and Turkish Medal).
99 Lt.Colonel Wombwell served with the 46th Regt. at the siege of Sebastopol in 1854-55
(Medal and Clasp, Brevet of Major, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
99t Lt.Colonel Wni. Douglas served with the 14th Regt. in the Crimea from 10th Jan. 1855,
including the siege and fall of Sebastopol, and assault of the 18th June (Medal with Clasp,
Brevet of Major, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal). Served in the field during the
New Zealand war of 1860-61.
100 Lt.Colonel T. L. Mayne served the Punjaub campaign of 1848-49 with the 14th Light
Dragoons, including the action of Ramnuggur (with the cliarging squadrons), passage of the
Cheiiab, battles of Chilliuuwallah and Goojerat, pursuit of the enemy across tlie Jhelum, and
of the Aff'ghans over the Indus, to the Khvber Pass (Medal and two Clasps).
101 Lt.Colonol James Maxwell served with the 34th Hegt. at the siege of Sebastopol in 1854-65,
and was severely wounded by the bursting of a shell in the trenches, 'i5tli May (Medal and Clasp,
Brevet Mijor, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal). Served in the Indian campaigns
in 1857-59, including the actions at Cawnpore on 'i6th, 27th, and 28th (wounded) Nov. 1857,
siege and capture of Lncknow, relief of Azimghur, and defeat of the rebels at Bootwul (men¬
tioned in despatclies, Medal and Clasp).
102 Lt.Colonel Whitmore landed in the Crimea with the 2nd Batt. on 22nd April 1855, and
was at the siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal and Clasp, Brevet Major, 5th Class of the Medjidie,
and Turkish Medal).
103 Lt.Colonel Deshon served with the 22nd Regt. in Scinde, and was'present atthe battle of
Hyderabad (Medal). He served also the campaign in the Southern Mahratta country in 1844-6,
and was present at the investment and capture of the Forts of PanuUa and Pownghur, as also
in the operations against the Forts of Munnahur and Munsuntosh in the Southern Concan.
Landed in the Crimea with the 48th Regt., served at the siege and fall of Sebastopol, and com¬
manded a portion of the Regiment detached on duty in the Dockyard from 14th January to 14th
March 1856 (Medal and Clasp, Brevet of Major, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
104 Lt.Colonel Greene served with the 43rd Light Infantry in the Kaffir war of 1851-53
(Medal). Nommated to the 4th Class of the Medjidie for service with the Turkish Contingent.
105 Lt.Colonel Nelson served as Sub-Assistant Commissary-General, Bombay Army, through¬
out the operations under Sir Wm. Nott, in Candahar and Affghanistan during 1841-42; and as
such under Sir Charles Napier at the battle of Hyderabad. Served as Aide-de-Camp to Sir
Thomas Valiant in the action of Maharajpore 29th Dec. 1843, and had a horse shot under him.
He has a Medal for Affghanistan, another for Scinde, and a bronze star for Maharajpore.
106 Lf.Colonel G. S. Young served the campaign on the Sutlej with the 80th, including the
battles of Moodkee, Ferozeshah, and Sobraon—wounded (Medal and two Clasps). Served in
the Indian campaign in 1858-59 ; commanded the Head Quarter wing of the 80th Regt. with a
column in Oiide ; at the capture of the Fort of Simrce, at Beera and Doondeakeira (Brevet of
Major, Medal).
1U7 Lt.Colonel Hackett served with the 38th Regt. at the siege and fall of Sebastopol from 27th
Jan. 1855 (Medaland Clasp, Brevet Major, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
108 Lt.Colonel Skipwith served throughout the Eastern campaign of 1854-55 with the 4l8t
Regt., including the battles of Alma and Inkerman, siege and fall of Sebastopol, and repulse of
the powcjfiil sortie of 2Gth Oct. (Medal and three Clasps, Bievet Major, Ki:ight of the Legion
of Honor, Sardinian and Turkish Medals, and 5lh Class of the Medjidie).
109 Lt.Colonel Harman served in the 34th Regt. in the Crimea from 9 th Deo. 1854 to 11th July
1855, incluliug the siege of Sebastopol, capture of the Rifle Pits on 19th April, and commanded
the Grenadiers of the 34th Kegt. at the assault of the Redan on the 18th June, when he re¬
ceived seven severe wounds (Medal and Clasp, Brevet Major, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and
Turkish Medal). Served in the Indian campaign of 1857-58 including afifdirs of 26th, 27th and
28th Nov. With the Gwalior contingent at Cawnpore, and siege and capture of Lucknow ; and
other minor affairs in Oude (Medal and Clasp).
no Lt.Colonel Fitzgerald served in the 7th Fusiliers in the Eastern Campaign of 1854 up to
the battle of Alina, whore he was severely wounded, being shot through both legs (Brevet of
Major, Medal with Clasp, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
in Ll.Colonel Qrindlay served the Punjaub Campaign of 1845-46, including the battles of
Ch'lUanwallah (severely wounded) and Goojtrat (Medal with two Clasps). Served as Assistant
Quarter Master General to Brigadier General Nicholson's Movable Column at the defeat of the
Sealkote Mutineers on the banks of the Ravee on the 12th and 16th July 1857 (Brevet of
Major), and was afterwards present at the Siege and Capture of Delhi (Medal with Clasp).
113 Lt.Colonel Bates served with the 45th Regt. in the Kaifir war of 1846-47 (Medal).
114 Lt.Colonel Hayman served with the 18th Royal Irish on the China expedition in 1842
(Medal). Accompanied the subsequent expedition under General D'Aguilar, which assaulted
and took the Forts of the Bocca Tigris in the Canton River, those of the Staked Barrier, and
of the city,of Canton. Served also in the Burmese war of 1852-53, including the operations
before Rangoon and capture of Prome (Medal). Served at the siege of Sebastopol from Dec.
1854, and was wounded 18th June 1855 (Medal and Clasp, Brevet Major, Knight of the Legion
of Honor, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
