"' Majpr C. D. H. Robilliard served with the Baltic expedition in 1855, including the action with a battery at the
mouth of the Narva on 18th June, and bombardment of Sweaborg (Medal).
1'^ Major W. A. Ross served in the expedition against the Sheik Emamoodeen of Jummoo, Cashmere, in 1846. Also
in the Punjaub campaign of 184S-49, including the passage of the Chenab at Ramnuggur, battles of Chillianwallah
and Goojerat. and pursuit of the Sikhs under Sir Walter Gilbert (Medal with two Clasps). Commanded a Troop of
Bengal Horse Artillery at the disarmament of four Regiments of Sepoys at Lahore, and at the mutiny of the loth
Bengal Cavalry in 1857 (Medal).
"' Major W. Rutherford served with the 83rd Regiment during the Indian Mutiny in 1858-59. Served at Cape
Coast Castle for a short time during the Ashanti war under Sir Garnet Wolseley (Medal).
"8 Major Sayer serve Syrian campaignd the of 1840-41 (Medal with one Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Also with
the Expeditions to the Baltic in 1854 and 1855, and with the R.M. Battalion sers'ing in co-operation with the French
army at the siege and capture of Bomarsund (Medal).
11' M ijor C. K. ServHnte served on the China expedition of 1857-50, including the blockade of the Canton river.
Also the campaign in the North of China in i860, including the affair of Sinho, capture of Tongku, assault and
capture of the Taku Forts (with the ladder party), and the subsequent engagements on the advance to Pekin
(Medal with three Clasps).
'20 Major G. G. S. Sewell served with the loist Fusiliers in the Indian N.W. Frontier war of 1863, and was present
at the attack and capture of the Conical Hill and Umbeyla (Medal with Clasp).
'^''t Major J. D. W. Sewell served with the expedition to China in 1857.
1^1 Major A. B. 8. Shairp served with the Bailie expedition in I'Sss, including the destruction of telegraph
stations on 29th June, and the shelling a large body of troops on ist July (Medal). Served in China in 1858-59,
against pirates ; also during the campaign of i860 (Medal).
■22 Major J. Sharpies was present at the battle of Maharajpore 29 Deo. 1843 (Bronze Star); he served also at the
siege and fall of Sebastopol in 1855, including attacks of the 18th June and 8th Sept. (Medal with Clasp, and
Turkish Medal).
'22f Major W. O. C. Shippard served in the operations in Perak in November and December 1875, including the
advance on and capture of Kinta (Medal with Clasp).
•23 Major J. Straghan served on the China expedition of 1S57-58, including the blockade of the Canton river
accompanied the expedition to the North and was wounded at the attack on the forts at the Peiho on 25th June 185c
(mentioned in despatches). Served the campaign of i860, including the action of Sinho, taking of Tonghoo, storm
and capture of the North Takoo Fort (wounded, and mentioned in despatches), and subsequent operations (Medal
with three Clasps).
'2* Major J. H. S3'mons served with the Baltic expedition in 1854 (Medal).
'25 Major R. F. Tayler served wi:"^ the R.M. Brigade in the Crimea from Feb. 1855 until the fall of Sebastopol
(Medal with Cla<p, and Turkish Mec'."l).
'2' Major David Thomson served in the Punjaub cami-)aign of 1848-49 (Medal). Also during the siege and capture
of Delhi in 1857 (Medal with Clasp).
'28 Major \V. L. Tinmouth served in the Baltic in July and August 1854 (Medal); also with the R.M. Brigade in
the Crimea at the siege of Sebastopol from Feb. to Aug. 1855 (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
'29 Majur W. G.Turle served with the Rifle Brigade in the campaign of 1857 against the mutineers in India,
including the actions on the Hindun, battle of Budlee ke Serai and taking the Heights before Delhi, the subsequent
siege operations until dangerously wounded on loth August (Medal with Clasp).
'™ Major Walker served as Adjutant with a wing of the 45th Regt. in the Kaffir war of 1S50-53 (Medal), and was
mentioned by the Commander in Chief there for gallant conduct in repulsing and pursuing a large body of the
enemy at Fort Cox on the 28th Sept. 1851; he was also three times noticed in despatches.
'^' Major W. H. Warner served in suppression of the Indian mutiny including the battle of Budleekeserai,
action of Nujjufghur, assault and capture of Delhi with previous operations under its walls, actions of Narnoul,
Gungeree, Puitialee. and Mynpoorie, storm and capture of Lucknow, subsequent operations in Oude, and capture
of five guns from the Nusseerabad Brigade on 30th March, 1858 (Medal with two Claspi,).
'32 Major C. E. Watson commanded a Detachment of Artillery on Field Service against Hill Karens in Pegu in
Jan. and Feb. 1857, and again in Feb. and March 1858.
'33 Major A. Whitten served with the 46th Regiment in the Crimean campaign from January to 5th February 1855,
and was present at the siege of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
'3< Major J. Wilson served in the Crimean campiiign of 1854-55 with the Scots Greys, including the battles of
Balaklava (slightly wounded) and Tchernaya, and siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with two Clasps, also Sar¬
dinian and Turkish Medals).
'35 Major Woolhouse commanded the Light Company of the 84th Regt. at the outbreak of the Mutiny in India in
1857, and was sent to keep open the communication between Allahabad and Benares, near the village of Goope-
gunge he defeated a large body of rebels, afterwards he escorted half a battery of artillery from that place to
Mungarwar in Oude, and there joined General Havelock's Field Force on 4th August, and was present in the
actions of Buseerutgunge, Boorbeeake Chowkee, Bithoor, Mungarwar, and Alumbagh, assault and relief of
Lucknow where he captured a gun (severely wounded, right arm amputated. Medal with Clasp).
'3' Major R. Woollcomhe served with the Baltic expedition in 1855, and in the flotilla of mortar-boats during the
bombardment of Swealiorg (Medal). Served in China in 1858-1-0, ineludinsr the expedition to Hankow, action with
the batteries at Nankin 20th November, and action of the 2iJ*t November (Medal).
'3» Major H. R. Worthington served with the 50th Regiment in New Zealand from 15th Nov. 1863 to 1866, and was
present at the assault and capture of Rangiawhia, repulse of the enemy's attack on the camp at Nukumaru, affair
of Kakaramea, and taking of Putahi (Medal).
