"' Lt.Colonel Xorcoc'K served with the Battalion sent out for service in .Tapan in 1864-66, and was nresent at the
1 bombardment of the batteries at the Straits of Simonosaki, the entrance of the inland sea of Japan, the assau;i
capture ajid destruction of the live batteries, stockade, magazines, and barracks, and during the shore operations
from the sth to the 8th Sept. 1864.
