" Captain E. F. Marriort served 1)1 the Afghan war] of 1378-80, and took part with the expediUon against the
Wuzeerie Khuerianis (Medal).
" Captain Maynard served in suppression of the Indian mutiny in 1857-59 (Medal).
" Captain Mom-y served in the occupation of Suakin by British troops in 18S5-86. Served in the Hazara Ex
pedition in i838 as Orderly CHcer to Brigadier General Channer (Medal with Clasp).
-" Captain Owen was wrecked in H.M.S. Saleiyh on 14th April 1857. Served in China in 1857-58, wasat the destruc¬
tion of Mandarin janks in Escape and Fatsham Creeks, blockade of the Canton river, stoim and capture of the city

'^ Captain J. R. Pearson served as Deputy Commissary of Ordnance at Cawnpore during the relief of Lucknow ;
also in the same capacity with the Siege Train in the Rohilcand campaign, and was present at the battle of Bareillj,
action of Shahiehanpore and capture of Mohumdee (mentioned in despatches. Medal with Clasp).
^^ Captain Peel served with the Nile Expedition in 1834-85 as Staff Captain and as Boat Officer on the Staff' of
Maior General Earle (mentioned in despatches, 4th Class of the Osmanieti, Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's Star).
^* Captain H. G. Pelly served in the Afghan war in 1880 I'Medal). Served in the Egyptian war of 1882, and was
present at the battle of Tel-el-Kebir (Medal with Clas]), and Khedive's Star).
-■' Lt.Colonel Pitman served in the Baltic in July and August 1854 (Medal), and subsequently ia 1854 before Sebas-
topol until its fall, and was in command of a Mortar in the flotilla employed during the siege, occupation of the Sea
of Azof, bombardment of Taganrog, and destruction of ships, stores, &c., there, also at Marioupol and other towns
on the coast where he was landed, was in the mortar flotilla at the bombardment and surrender of Kinboum (Medal
with two Clasps, Knight of the Legion of Honor, 5thClass of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal). Served the Chinese
campaign of i860 (Medal).
^^ Captain Stark served with the Baltic E.xpedition in 1855, including the bombardment of Sweaborg (Medal).

' Lieut. Beresford served in the Zulu war in 1879, and w.as present in the engagement at Ulundi (Medal with
Clasp). Served with the Burmese Expedition in 1885-89 (Medal with two Clasps).
2 Lieut. Harris served in the Burmese Expedition in 1883-87 with the 2nd Battalion of the Liverpool Regiment,
and was severely wounded in an attack near Myingyan in May i386 (Medal with Clasp).
= Lieut. W. Holt served in the Burmese expedition ia 18S7-89 with the ist Battalijn Hampshire Regiment
(Medal with Clasp).
♦ Lieut. J. W. Inglis served with the Battalion sent out for service in Japan in 1864-66, and was present at the bom¬
bardment of the batteries at the straits of Simouosaki, the entrance of the inland sea of Japan, and commanded a Com¬
pany of the 2nd Battalion R.M. at the assault capture and destruction of the five batteries, stockade, magazines, and
barracks, on 5th and 6th Sept. 1864 (severely wounded by a musket-ball in the left groin, mentioned in despatches).
^ Lieut. Kennedy served with the Battalion R.M. sent out for service in Japan in 1864-66, and present at the
COHNET.
