' Quarter Master Butler served iu China in 1857. Also with the Pearl Brigade throughout the Indian Mutiny
1857-58, and was engaged in si.Kteen actions, and twice mentioned in despatches (Medal). He has also received
.,'. Medal for distinguished service in action, and the Medal for Long Service and Good Conduct.
^ Captain Cooper has received the Medal for service in Syria in 1840.
* Captain Hailing served on the China expedition of 1857-59, including the blockade of the Canton river, the
'andiug before and capture of the city, taking and destruction of Shektsing, expedition to the North, and one of the
• irming party at the attack on the Pehio Forts on 25th June 1859. Mentioned in despatches, and awarded the
cilal for Conspicuous Gallantry (Medal with Clasp).
' Captain William Smith served with the 17th Regiment in the Crimea from the 2nd Jan. 1855, including
e siege and fall of Sebastopol and assaults of the Redan on the i8th June and 8th Sept,; was also at the
mbardment and surrender of Kinbourn (iledal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
Captain Watson served with the 89th Regiment at the siege of Sebastopol, from 15th Dec. 1854 to 4th July 1S55,
.1 at the attack on the Redan on the i8th June (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
