'68 Lt.Golonel J. F. Meiklejohn served with the Bhootnu Expedition in 1864-65, and was present at the taking of
Bala and Chamoorchee (Medal with Clasp). Served in the Afghan war in 1879-80, and was present at the assault
of Zawa (Medal). Served in the Soudan campaign in 1885, and was jireseut at the reconnaissance to Hasheen, in
the engagement at Hasheen, and at the destruction of Temai (mentioned in despatches, Mediil with Clasp).
151 Lt.Colonel E. S. Milman served with the Seetabuldee Combined Field Force dming the mutiny in June 1857,
and with the Kamptee Flying Column from gth Nov. to 31st Dec. 1838 (Medal).
"2 Sir C. B. H. Mitchell served with the Baltic expeditions in 1854 and 1853, and was employed in the rocket-
boats at the bombardment of Sweaborg on the gth August (Medal). Served with the expedition to the Baltic
until the declaration of peace in 1856.
133 Lt.Colonel M. P. Moriarty served with the 34th Foot at the actions at Cawnpore, on 26th, 27th and 28th ot
November 1857 under Major General Windham ; at the attack and capture of Fort Meangunge on 24th Feb. under
Sir Hope Grant; at several minor engagements near Bannee Bridge in Oude ; present during the whole of the
operations before Lucknow, and at the taking of the citj'. Served with the 93rd Highlanders at the attack on Fort
Eooya, and in action at AUygunge in Oude ; likewise at the action and capture of Bareilly in May 1858. Served
with the 66th or Ghoorkha Light Infantry at the actions at Fusgaon, Russoolpore, and Bish wah (Medal with Clasp).
1'* Lt.Colonel U. L. Morris served with the Baltic Expeditions in 1854 and 1855, including the action with a battery
at the mouth of the Narva on 18th June, and at the bombardment of Sweaborg (Medal).
"j Lt.Colonel R. F. Morrison (formerly a Captain in the 51st Foot) served with the loth Regiment in the
Eastern campaign up to 28th October 1854, including the battle of Alma and siege of Sebastopol (Medal with two
Clasps, and Turkish Medal).
"s Lt.ColonelW. P. Mortimer served with the 8cth Regiment in Burmah in 1853 (Medal with Clasp for Pegu). Also
in the Indian mutiny campaign of 1858-59, and was present with the Camel Corps at the capture of Calpee, and
served with the Cawnpore and Moradabad Levies (Medal with Clasp).
''' Lt.Colonel A. Munro served in the 7th Fusiliers throughout the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the
battles of Alma and Inkerman, affairs of Bulganac and M'Kenzie's Farm, capture of 15alaklava, siege and fall of
Sebastopol, and sortie of 26 October (Medal with three Clasps, and Turkish Medal).
1'* Lt.Colonel H. Murray served throughout the Indian mutiny campaign of 1857-58, including the battles of Bud-
leekeserai, and Nujjufghur, throughout the siege and capture of Delhi, actions of Bolundshuhur, AUyghur, Agra, and
Kanouge and relief of Luckiiow by Lord Cl.yde, actions at Cawnpore on 5th and 6th Sept., at Seraighat, Futtehgur, and
Shumshabad (Medal with two Clasps).
1'^ Lt.Colonel R. Nagle served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battles of Almi and Inkerman
(wounded), siege and fall of Sebastopol, sortie of 25th October, and assault of the Redan on the 8th September
(Medal for Distinguished Conduct in the Field and Annuity of ;^2o, also Crimean Medal with ttiroa Clasp-*, Knight
of the Legion of Honor, and Turkish Medal). Served with the Red River Expedition in 1870 in charge of the
Transport Services.
'■""' Lt.Colonel H. M. Nepean was employedduring the mutiny against insurgents in the Raepore, Rukunpore, and
Sumbulpore districts in 1857-58 ; present at the capture of Gtivind-Sing of Sonakhan and fourteen of his armed
followers on nth December 1857 ; at the action and forcing of the Singorah Pass 19th January 1858; in the action
with the cavalry at Gringall iu the Sumbulpore district, and other minor affairs (Medal).
2"" Lt.Coloiiel R. G. Newbigging served with the 89th Regiment in the Indian campaign in 1858-59, and present
at the affair at Honoria in Goojerat, and acted as Staff Officer to a Field Force in pursuit of Tantia Topee and the
Rao Sahib in Rajpootana.
-"'' Lt.Colonel W. Newsome served with the Army in Turkey and the Crimea from June 1854 as a volunteer, and
for such service wiA the Royal Engineers from Oct. 1854 to May 1855, as Assistant Engineer, he received his
commission in the Corps: has received the Crimean Medal with three Clasps, the Turkish Medal, and the sth Class
of the Medjidie.
'"^ Lt.Colonel A. Nicholas served with the 46th Regiment in the Crimea in 1854-55, including the siege and fall of
Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
^°* Lt.Colonel J. S. Nicholson served in the 27th Madras Native Infantry in Bengal during the mutiny from
August 185; to March 1858 (Medal).
^'' Lt.Colonel D. North served iu the Ashanti war in 1874 with the Transport Department, and was present ia
the engagement at Amoafal—wounded (Brevet of Major, Medal with Clasp).
^oo Lc.Colonel J. V. Nugent served with the 51st Light Infantry in the Umbeyla Expedition in 1863. Also served iu
the Jowaki campaign in 1877 (Medal with Clasp). Served in the Afghan war of 1878-80, and was present at the
attack and capture of All Musjid, in the advance to the relief of Cabul, aad in the operations in the Hissarik
Valley (mentioned in despatches. Brevet of Major, Medal with Clasp).

^"s Lt.Cjlouel \V. O'Malley served with the 71st Highlanders in the Crimean campaign from 13th Feb. 1855,
including the siege and fall of Sebastopol, expeditioa to Kertch, destruction of and affairs at Taman (Medal with
Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Served in the Central India campaign in 1838, including the batde of Kotakoserai
and recapture of Gwalior (Medal with Clasp).
^'" Lt.Coloutl R. D. Osborn served througliout the Indian Mutiny campaign of 1857-59; jjresent at the
actions ot Boolundshuhur and AUyghur; commanded a detachment of the 4th Punjaub Infantry at the actions of
Gungeree and Puttiallee; present iu various oiierations against the rebels in the Agra district; served with Gol.
Troup's Column in Oude, and present at the action of Biswah; served with the Saugor Field Force under General
Whitlock from January to May 1859 ; commanded a field detachment in the Ooraie district; defeated a party of
rebels at Tudhoorkee; and served with the Bundlecund Field Force under Brigadier Wheeler in 1859-60 (Medal).
-"> Lt.Colonel H. W. L. Paddon served in the 7th FasUiers in the Indian N.W. Froatier war of 1863 with the
Eusofzye Field Force, present at the defence of the Sungahs at the Umbeyla Pass and at the attack on and storm¬
ing of the Conical Hill and destruction of Lalloo oa the 15th Dec, also in the action at Umbeyla and destruction of
the village at the foot of the Bonau- Pass on i6ch Dec. which ended in the oomolete rout of the enemy and the sub¬
mission of the hill tribes on 17th Dec. (Medal with Clasp).
-" Lt.Coloncl W. H. Parker served with the 17th Regiment in the Crimea from the 6th Sept. 1855, including the
siege and fall of Sebastopol, and was wounded at the assault of the Redan on the 8th Sept. 1855 ; was also present
at the bombardment and surrender of Kinbourn (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Modal).
214 Lt.Colonel W. Patterson served with the 32nd Regiment in ttie ist and 2nd siege operations before Mooltan,
including the storm and capture of the city; he was also present at the surrender of the fort and garrison of
Cheniote, and at the battle of Goojerat (Medal with two Clasps). Served also on the North-West Frontier ol
India (Medal).
^'2 Lt.Colonel D. C. Redder served in the Eastern campaign in 1855, and was present at the siege ef Sebastopol
(Medal with Clasp).
-" Lt.Colonel R. P. Pennefather served as Assistant Engineer in the Abyssinian Expedition during the whole
campaign of 1867-68. Services brought to the especial notice of Sir Robert Napier by the Commanding Royal
Engineer (mentioned in despatches. Medal).
■"' Lt.Colonol G. N. Pepper served with the 31st Regiment iu the Crimea from 22nd May 1855, including the
siege and fall of Sebastopol and attacks of the i8th June and 8th Sept. (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
Present at the repulse of the Taeping rebels from Shanghai on 24th Aug. 1862.
2" Lt.Colonel G. B. Perryu served with the 90th Light lut'autry in the Indian campaign of 1857-58, including the
defence of the Alumbagh, relief of Lucknow by Lord Clyde, defeiioe of the Alumbagh under Outram, siege and cap¬
ture of Lucknow, and subsequent operations in Oude (Modal with two Clasps, and a year's service for Lucknow).
2^" Lt.Colonel H. A. Platt accompanied an expedition up the River Gambia iu 1861, and was present at the Ijom-
bardment of the enemy's entrenched works on the banks of the Sowarracunda Creek, storming capture and
destruction of the fortifled Carawan, Kinty Cunda, and Saba. Was on board the JPeraeverajice when that troop¬
ship was totally wrecked off the island of Maio on 21st Oct. i860.
22" Lt.Colonel J. Potham served in the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battle of Alma (wounded) and
Siege of Sebastopol (Medal with two Clasps, and Turkish Medal). Served with the 7th Fusiliers in the Indian
