i860, including the action of Sinho and storming of Taugku (.Medal with Clasp for the Taku Forts). Served
against the Taepings in the vicinit.y of Shanghai in 1862, and was acting Aide de Camp to General Staveley at the
recajiture of Kading (mentioned in despatches).

bad Brigade, and several other actions in Oude (Medal). Served with the nth I'unjaub Infantry in the China
war of i860 at the defence of Canton; and in 1861 was engaged in the defence of Shanghai and Woosung against
