'" Major Hamilton served with
the i8th Royallrish throughout the
New Zealand war of 1863 -66, includ¬
ing the expeditions to Paparata and
Ketemari (Medal). Served in the
Egyptian war of 1882, and was pre¬
sent at the action at Kassasin on
the gth Sept, and at the battle of
Tel-el-Kebir (mentioned In des¬
patches, honorary rank of Major,
Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's
Star).
^* Lieut. .Tamieson served in the
Afghan war in 1879-80 (Medal).
Served in the Nile Expedition in
1884-8; with the ist Battalioi; of the
Royal Irish Regiment,and was i^re-
ent in the engagement at Abu Klea
Wells on the i6th February —
severelj' wounded (Medal with
Clasp, and Khedive's Star).
